Corront Doubles Back Into Contention

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Merwan Corront had previously lost a flip with king-queen against the 88 of Danny Dayani when he hit a flush but Dayani improved to a full house.

Corront now three-bet jammed for 234,000 into an open raise worth 21,000 by Gareth Kalil. Darryl Shaff reluctantly folded and Kalil reluctantly called with the far bigger stack.

Merwan Corront: QQ All in
Gareth Kalil: 77

The QJ4JJ board gave Corront queens full of jacks.

"I folded ace-queen," Shaff mentioned in the table chat.

Solomon Wins Solid Pot Off Ng

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jarred Solomon
Jarred Solomon

David Ng raised for Jarred Solomon to call and they headed to the 986 flop, on which Ng's bet of 15,000 was just called.

Ng then check-raised the 7 turn from 31,000 to 75,000 and Solomon stuck around.

That brought them to the A river on which Ng checked once more. Solomon fired a bet of 180,000 to send his opponent into the tank. "I think you have the ace of diamonds," Ng said and needed one time bank extension before folding.

During that hand, Gary Citron was knocked out on a nearby table.

Antezana Doubles Through Pillay

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action had already reached the KQQ48 river when Edgar Antezana was all-in. Alvin Pillay reluctantly called to get shown the QJ and Pillay mucked his inferior Q7 for the same trips but worse kicker.

Who Actually Got Unlucky Here?

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Some 175,000 were in the middle to the A425 turn when the chips went into the middle between SM and Stephen Courtney.

Stephen Courtney: 55 All in
SM: 44

The river was the 3 and they somehow chopped it up with the straight on the board, then discussed who had been the one to be unlucky. Both have comfortable big stacks and the action carries on.

Shah Goes to the Moon and Back

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kushil Shah was all-in before the flop for 76,000 with the 77 and was dominated by table neighbour Moon Khan, who had him pipped with the 99.

The QJ4107 runout brought the two-outer on the river and Khan sighed "I knew it was coming".

Ollewagen Eliminated by Toker

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Kade Ollewagen
Kade Ollewagen

In a preflop contest between two shorter stacks, Kade Ollewagen was the player at risk with the AK. He was well ahead of Ricky Toker, who only had the AJ.

The 984 flop and 2 turn were no threat for Ollewagen and Toker had just two outs to deal the final blow. One of them was the J and it fell on the river.

Ng Keeps Adding Chips

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

David Ng started the day as one of the shorter stacks but he now sits well above the average. In the latest hand, he took on Menesh Keshav, who check-called for 15,000 on the A102 flop. On the J turn, Keshav checked again and folded when Ng bet 32,000.

Diamonds are Corront's Best Friend

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Merwan Corront
Merwan Corront

In three-way action to the K85 flop, the action checked to Merwan Corront and he bet 50,000 in the hijack. Brett Toker moved all-in from the small blind and Gareth Kalil reluctantly folded, while Corront pushed forward his near identical stack for the call.

Merwan Corront: AQ All in
Brett Toker: AK

The 10 turn instantly gave Corront the nut flush to make the 5 river a formality. He doubled for 212,000 and Toker was left with 3,000. One table over, his son Ricky Toker got a shove through and the father was then all-in soon after.

Multi way to the K52JK river, Patrice Ah-Nien min-bet to isolate and his J4 beat the A6 of Toker.
