Corront Doubles Back Into Contention

Merwan Corront had previously lost a flip with king-queen against the 8♠8♣ of Danny Dayani when he hit a flush but Dayani improved to a full house.

Corront now three-bet jammed for 234,000 into an open raise worth 21,000 by Gareth Kalil. Darryl Shaff reluctantly folded and Kalil reluctantly called with the far bigger stack.

David Ng raised for Jarred Solomon to call and they headed to the 9♦8♦6♦ flop, on which Ng's bet of 15,000 was just called.

Ng then check-raised the 7♥ turn from 31,000 to 75,000 and Solomon stuck around.

That brought them to the A♥ river on which Ng checked once more. Solomon fired a bet of 180,000 to send his opponent into the tank. "I think you have the ace of diamonds," Ng said and needed one time bank extension before folding.

During that hand, Gary Citron was knocked out on a nearby table.

In a preflop contest between two shorter stacks, Kade Ollewagen was the player at risk with the A♣K♣. He was well ahead of Ricky Toker, who only had the A♥J♠.

In three-way action to the K♦8♠5♦ flop, the action checked to Merwan Corront and he bet 50,000 in the hijack. Brett Toker moved all-in from the small blind and Gareth Kalil reluctantly folded, while Corront pushed forward his near identical stack for the call.
