The button was raised to 500,000 with the K♣10♥ by Alexandre Blanc and Edgar Antezana called one seat over holding the K♥Q♦. They checked the A♦J♥4♠ flop and Antezana bet the A♣ turn for 1,500,000, forcing out Blanc.
Naven Naicker opened to 500,000 with the K♦10♣ on the button, Jon Persent then jammed for an effective 5,075,000 in the small blind with the A♦9♥. Naicker asked for a count and
Naven Naicker raised to 500,000 with the K♦J♦ on the button for Alexandre Blanc to come with the 9♥3♥ in the big blind. The 9♦6♣2♣ flop was checked by both, Blanc then checked and called the Q♦ turn to a bet of 700,000. Both checked the 8♠ river and Naicker sigh-checked behind to show visible frustration.
Edgar Antezana raised to 600,000 with the 9♥6♥ and then folded when Jon Persent jammed the 7♦7♣ from the small blind.
Persent then opened to the same amount with the A♥4♦ and Antezana defended his K♦9♠ big blind. The 8♣5♣3♥ flop was checked and Antezana checked the 9♦ turn. Persent bet 1,000,000 only for Antezana to check-shove for 3,025,000.
"Count please," the Norwegian said and checked his own stack while that was determined.
Persent eventually called with his gutshot and one over card but couldn't deal the final blow on the Q♥ river.
Level: 32
Blinds: 100,000/250,000
Ante: 250,000
Jon Persent made it 600,000 to go from the small blind with the K♦Q♣ and Alexandre Blanc came along with Q♥8♦ out of the big blind.
They headed to the 8♣4♣2♣ flop on which Persent bet 600,000, Blanc called. The same action repeated on the 10♥ turn for 1,300,000 and that led them to the 2♦ river.
Persent fired a third barrel for 2,200,000 to send Blanc into the tank. Blanc called at the end of his shot clock and took over the lead at the end of the level before the final four went on the next scheduled 15-minute break.
Mike Cupido pushed all-in out of the small blind for 3,200,000, sixteen big blinds in total. Jon Persent glanced at his table neighbour and then made the call with the far covering stack.
Mike Cupido: K♥3♣
Jon Persent: A♣3♥
It was all over for Cupido on the A♥9♠5♣5♥4♣ runout and the long-time big stack had to settle for fifth place worth ZAR 208,000.
The raise to 400,000 by Jon Persent from under the gun came with the A♣3♣. Edgar Antezana three-bet the button to 1,000,000 on the button with the J♠J♦ and Naven Naicker gave it some thought before he four-bet jammed for the last 3,825,000 with 8♥8♣.
Persent asked for an exact count on the shove and folded, Antezana gave it some thought while Naicker had a blank stare on the table behind his shades. The fold by Antezana followed and Naicker got away with the weaker holding.
Naven Naicker raised to 400,000 with the K♦8♦ and then folded when Jon Persent three-bet the A♦10♦.
Persent then opened the button to 500,000 on the button holding the J♥6♥, but was called by Alexandre Blanc in the small blind with the A♣9♣ and Edgar Antezana who came along in the big blind with 10♣9♥. The 10♦4♦2♣ flop was checked by Blanc, Antezana led for 1,000,000 with the top pair and won the pot.
From under the gun, Jon Persent raised to 400,000 and Jedd Kossew then jammed on the button for the last 2,000,000. Both blinds folded and Persent called after getting a count.
Jedd Kossew: K♠K♦
Jon Persent: A♥10♣
The J♥5♠3♦ flop and 6♦ turn were blanks but the dreadful A♣ came on the river to end his run in sixth place for ZAR 170,000.
Jedd Kossew opened 400,000 from under the gun holding the A♥10♦ and Edgar Antezana defended 8♦7♠ off the big blind. The 9♦5♥2♠ flop was checked and the 6♥ turn gave Antezana the nut straight. Both checked again and Antezana bet the J♦ river for 300,000 only.
Kossew was thinking it over for only a few seconds and folded.
