Another Showdown Pot for Steenkamp

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Heads-up to the QJ45 turn, Cliton Taliwanth bet 2,000 and Dirk Steenkamp called. They checked the J on the river and Taliwanth revealed his Q9 for flopped top pair. Steenkamp had that beat with the J10 for rivered trips to scoop another pot.

Vilela Takes From Cherry

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Jamie Vilela
Jamie Vilela

Jamie Vilela raised to 800 and Jonathan Hoal called, as did Norman Cherry in the cutoff. On the 733 flop, Vilela continued for 3,900 and Hoal folded while Cherry raised to 8,000.

"How much are you playing?" Vilela asked and then just flat-called.

"You ask for the stack and then don't push?" Cherry replies ahead of the 6 turn to which Vilela replies "you had me confused. They also check down there and on the J river.

Cherry tables the 87 and Vilela has that beat with the A7.

Mouton Bad Beats Sardini on the River

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Gavin Sardini
Gavin Sardini

Three ways to the 662 flop, Gavin Sardini bet 1,500 and was called by Brown Banda. Jaco Mouton raised to 10,000 and Sardini then jammed for 30,800 to force out Banda. Mouton called and showed his 76, which Sardini had pipped with the 86 for the slightly superior kicker.

Both players have history for many years and even today tangled in a bigger pot already.

The turn was the 4 and nothing changed, but a split pot was less likely. However, the 7 river gave Mouton superior two pair and Sardini crashed out.

With 5,500 in the middle to the J65 flop, it checked to Nico Wiechers who bet 3,000 from an early position. Jonathan Hoal called on the button and Dirk Steenkamp check-raised to 9,000. Wiechers then moved all-in and Hoal folded.

"Oh Nico, you have a set?" Steenkamp sighed, then declared "okay, all in call" and pushed forward the chips.

Nico Wiechers: 65 All in
Dirk Steenkamp: AA

"Come on, pair the board!" Steenkamp demanded and his wish was granted on the Q turn and Q river for the first casualty of the day.

Mouton Battles With Sardini

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Jaco Mouton four-bet preflop from the button and was called by Gavin Sardini in the big blind. There was only one further street of action on the K73 flop as they checked down the 10 turn and 2 river.

"I missed," Sardini declared and Mouton flashed his 7 first followed by the 4 for a mighty pair of sevens. That was enough to win the pot as Sardini mucked.
