The penultimate level of Day 1c is nearing an end with still 17 hopefuls in contention and an early finish is two eliminations away.
In the meanwhile, the turbo heat 1d has reached level eight with 61 entries and 36 players remaining. Jaco Mouton and Okkie Fourie are among the chip leaders with two levels of late registration still allowed.
Max Deveson raised to 11,000 and earned two callers. It then got to Nic Ioannoy and he three-bet to 52,000. Once it was back on Deveson, he pushed all-in for 160,000. Zoran Kljajic was among the two who folded but Ioannoy called with the covering stack.

The J♠3♦2♥9♦Q♦ board was as clean as it could get for Deveson to double.
"I folded ace-jack," Kiljajic mentioned in the table chat.
The action on the feature table has slowed down a lot and Jarred Solomon earned back some chips. He opened to 10,000 with the K♣Q♥ and was called by Edgar Antezana in the big blind with the 9♣7♠.
On a flop of Q♠8♣2♣, Antezana checked and Solomon bet 10,000 to win the pot right there.
Over on the outer table, one of the shorter stacks got the chips into the middle and that happened to be Zoran Kljajic for the last 100,000 in the small blind. He was looked up by Rex Hsu in the cutoff and both players showed strong aces.

"Oh my god, hold," Kljajic gasped and was then somewhat relieved with the J♠8♠2♠ flop. On the 10♦ turn, both Max Deveson and Giovanni Zanette held their breath but the river was the 10♠ which confirmed the double of Kljajic.
Hennie Appel moved all-in for 86,000 in the hijack and Nic Ioannoy called on the button, the blinds all folded.

Ioannoy had won several medium-sized pots to build a profit, but would lose most of it on the K♥Q♦2♥7♦K♣ runout as Appel survived.
"Why did you do it?" Ioannoy asked and some of the other players at the table laughed.
Chris Luyt raised from under the gun and picked up multiple callers to see the A♥J♦2♣ flop. Eben Lottering and Nic Ioannoy checked out of the blinds and Luyt bet 25,000. Everyone else folded including Ioannoy and Luyt flashed his cards to him, then flipped the A♠A♣ onto the felt.
Ahmed Karrim got a short stack in with a severe short stack and behind him, the fireworks kept on coming as Stephen Courtney was also at risk against Jarred Solomon in the small blind. Courtney had raised to 10,000, Solomon three-bet to 52,000 and then called the shove by Courtney for 154,000.

The J♦6♥5♥8♦9♣ board knocked out Karrim while Courtney doubled through Solomon.
Ahmed Antezana three-bet jammed the last 76,000 with K♦10♣ into the A♠J♥ of Ahmed Karrim in a duel of short stacks.
The K♠7♣7♦2♥8♦ board left Karrim with a fraction of a big blind.

Zoran Kljajic raised to 12,000 and Gordon Padayachee called in the next seat. Eben Lottering then moved all-in for 57,000 and Kljajic called, while Padayachee folded.
