Negreanu Lucky Versus Petrangelo

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In a hand from the live stream, Nick Petrangelo completed with {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Daniel Negreanu raised to 66,000 with {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Petrangelo called and they saw a {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop. Petrangelo check-called 40,000. The turn was a {10-Spades} and both players checked, bringing the {2-Spades}. Petrangelo checked and called 155,000, mucking to the rivered straight.

Petrangelo Eliminates Sontheimer

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

In a hand from the stream, Steffen Sontheimer raised to 38,000 on the button with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Nick Petrangelo shoved in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Sontheimer took a deep breath, thought briefly, and called.

The {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop pulled Sontheimer into the lead, and the {3-Clubs} kept him there. An {a-Clubs} river spelled doom for the German, though, and he bowed out before the small payout in eighth.

Chidwick Folds River to Badziakouski

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang opened the button to 37,000 and Mikita Badziakouski called in the small blind, as did Stephen Chidwick.

The flop landed {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Badziakouski bet out 70,000 with Chidwick calling, and Vogelsang folding.

The turn of the {10-Hearts} checked through as the {Q-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Badziakouski bet 280,000, and Chidwick used a time extension chip before folding.

Hand-for-Hand Play Begins

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Following the elimination of Steffen Sontheimer on the final hand of the previous level, the tournament is now playing hand-for-hand.

For every hand that the two tables play, two minutes will be taken off the clock.

Although everyone is now guaranteed $90,000 due to the forfeited deposits, each player's eyes are firmly set on the $600,000 prize awaiting 7th place, and then the eventual 1st place prize of $5,000,000.

Bonomo Uses Two Extensions

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang put in what looked to be a three-bet to 135,000 in the big blind after unknown action ahead of him, and Justin Bonomo called in the small blind. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and both players checked to bring the {10-Spades}. Bonomo checked and Vogelsang bet 175,000. Bonomo called. The river was the {q-Hearts} and Bonomo checked. Vogelsang used a time extension and bet 650,000, most of his remaining chips.

Bonomo went into the tank and used two time extensions.

"When do we get more time extensions?" he asked the tournament director, who told him six players left.

Bonomo opted to fold.
