Limonova Out with Deuces

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Kelly Limonova
Kelly Limonova

Kelly Limonova jammed from under the gun for about ten big blinds with {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and was called by Jussi Mattila from late position with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop was safe for the last woman standing as was the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. However, the {q-Diamonds} paired up Mattila on the river and Limonova was out in 17th place for €2,180.

This means Andres Loiv, who is low on chips, wins the Olybet qualifier last longer contest and will head to the Battle of Malta with a free Main Event seat valued at €555.

The remaining 16 players are now each guaranteed €2,410.

Some laughter came from Table 1. Most hands have had at least one player raising preflop but Jussi Mattila just got a walk. He looked down at his cards and he had {a-}{a-} and started laughing.

He turned over his cards for everyone to see and some of his tablemates joined in on the laughter.

Jussi Mattila jammed into a pot of around 70,000 with the {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades} on the board and the action paused on Ranno Sootla who had about 70,000 remaining.

After a couple of minutes passed, the duo began chatting.

"You are going to fold when you wait this long," said Mattila.

"What makes you say that?" responded Sootla.

"Not many players bluff in that spot," said Sootla a minute later. "But you could be the one, right?"

Another minute or two passed by before Sootla decided to call. He turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} for top pair and was eliminated from the tournament in 18th place for €2,180 after Mattila had the nuts with {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} giving him a straight.

Aki Pyysing has had a good start to the day. A little luck doesn't hurt.

Markku Koplimaa tanked from the big blind with about 60,000 in the pot and the {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs} on the turn before he jammed for about 70,000. Pyysing snap-called and the players turned over their cards.

Aki Pyysing: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Markku Koplimaa: {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Koplimaa was ahead when all the money got in the middle with two pair. However, Pyysing improved to a better two pair after the {k-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

"That's what you get for slow-playing," said Pyysing.

"I wasn't slow-playing, I was thinking," responded Koplimaa.

"You are right," replied Pyysing. "I am sorry."
