Moments after Cecile Ticherfatine arrived at the table, Jean-Gilbert Levy opened to 900 from under the gun and was called by Julien Guibert in middle position. Sabare Atmani on the button then three-bet to 3,200 and was called by Sebastian Tusal in the small blind and both Levy and Guibert.
The dealer fanned a flop of Q♥2♣3♥. Tusal and Levy checked, and Guibert led out for 10,000. Atmani called, but Tusal quickly moved all-in for 29,000. Levy was happy to fold, then Tusal shoved for 46,400. Atmani went into the tank and called.
Sebastian Tusal: A♣Q♣
Julien Guibert: 3♦3♠
Sabare Atmani: A♠Q♦
Tusal and Atmani both had top pair, but Guibert flopped a set. He even hit a full house with the 2♥2♦ runout scooped the pot, while Tusal was eliminated.
Around 37,000 was already in the middle on a completed board of 6♠K♠Q♠9♣5♥ in a hand between Sorawit Suriyakarn in the cutoff and Pierre Canova on the button.
Suriyakarn moved all in for 26,000, sending Canova deep into the tank. After around three minutes of pondering his options, eyeing his opponent the whole time, Canova eventually folded, tapping the table as his cards hit the muck.
On a flop of 5♣3♠Q♦, cards went on their backs with a player in the hijack at risk for 17,000 against Andre Stroe on the button.
Hijack: A♦A♥
Andre Stroe: A♠J♣
The player in the hijack couldn't dream of a better spot with aces. But the 10♠ came on the turn, followed by the K♦ river to give a runner-runner straight to Stroe and send the hijack player to the rail.
Nilson Da Silva opened to 1,100 from early position and action folded to Jerome Sgorrano on the button, who produced a three-bet to 3,000.
Action folded back to Da Silva, who pondered the spot before reaching for chips to produce a four-bet to 12,000, with Sgorrano almost simultaneously sending his hand into the muck.
