Within the first two hours, the 39 hopefuls have been culled down to just 20 contenders and they are now on a scheduled 15-minute break during which some smaller denominations will be raced off.
Marko Nortje opened to 35,000 with J♥10♠ and called a three-bet to 80,000 by Edgar Antezana with the A♣A♦ in the cutoff. They checked the A♥3♠2♣ flop and the 8♥ turn saw Nortje check-fold when Antezana bet.
The second player to reach seven figures on Day 2 is Florian Bock. He opened to 35,000 and then called the three-bet shove by Adam Gamsy in the small blind.
Adam Gamsy: 5♠5♥
Florian Bock: 9♣9♥
The A♥6♣4♠A♠Q♥ board sent Gamsy to the payout desk in 21st place.
Marko Nortje had been moved tables to balance the field as he headed to the live stream. Prior to that, Clive Kikia had raise-folded pocket jacks with a shorter stack behind, and Nortje flashed a six.
Kikia then got it in after the 4♣4♠3♠ flop against Adam Gamsy.
Clive Kikia: 8♠8♦
Adam Gamsy: K♠10♠
The 5♦ turn and 2♣ river kept the pair in the lead and Kikia celebrated vividly.
Sugen Singh opened to 35,000 with the A♣K♦ in the hijack and Edgar Antezana three-bet to 80,000 on the button with J♠J♦. It folded back to Singh and he moved all-in, Antezana reluctantly folded and avoided the flip.
In a three-bet pot between Florian Bock in the hijack and Marko Nortje one seat over in the cutoff, the flop showed J♠6♦4♥ and Bock check-called for 55,000. Following the K♣ turn, Bock check-called for 140,000 and Nortje checked back the 8♥ on the river, asking if Bock had a king.
The German nodded and showed his K♠7♠ to leave Nortje stunned for half a minute before he told the dealer to push the chips to Bock.
Nortje then raised and Eben Mare three-bet behind. Adam Gamsy four-bet jammed and Nortje went all-in over the top, Mare folded.
Adam Gamsy: A♦K♣
Marko Nortje: A♠K♠
Nortje was freerolling the A♣2♠2♦ flop and jokingly offered his hand for Gamsy to shake when the Q♠ came on the turn. However, the A♥ river brought no runner-runner bad beat story to tell as they chopped it up.
