Horgan Chops; Then Busts

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Colin Horgan
Colin Horgan

The Hendon Mob qualifier Colin Horgan jammed a short stack with A6 and was called by Jaco Mouton in the next seat on the button with the A6.

Mouton freerolled the Q85 flop but the A turn and 4 river ensured the split pot.

Horgan was at risk the next hand with KQ against Didier Mery with the AQ. There was some equity to be had on the J95 flop for the Irishman but he bricked the 7J runout.

Young Among Recent Casualties

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Maxwell Young
Maxwell Young

Maxwell Young had late-registered at the last minute and ran up a stack only for it to come crushing down in a big pot against Bernard Gossard. The A5 of Young were up against K10.

On a board of J6595, Gossard turned a flush and the trips of Young on the river were meaningless. He had crumbs left and lost those the next hand against Adam Gamsy.

Franken Finishes Off Hira

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the J428Q river, Ashley Hira bet 15,000 for half of his stack. Michael Franken called and showed A5 for ace-high, having missed the wheel and nut flush draw. Hira sighed, exposed the 75 and dropped to a short stack.

Hira then moved all-in blind without checking his cards. Franken called on the button, everyone else folded.

Ashley Hira: KJ All in
Michael Franken: 66

Despite not having seen his cards and only flipping them over one by one for the showdown, it was best case scenario with a classic flip for Hira. He picked up a ton of outs until the Q938 turn but the 7 river was not among them.

Level 9 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jono Hoal
Jono Hoal

Jonathan. Hoal was all-in preflop with a shorter stack and looked up by Alan Jung, who had lost a big portion of his stack in the first level but stuck around. "Let me get some chips back," Hoal grinned while they opened their cards.

Jonathan Hoal: J8 All in
Alan Jung: KQ

The board ran out AJ7510 and Hoal's jack on the flop went down to a royal flush!

"I never had one, let me take a picture," a very excited Jung said and grabbed his phone.
