High Roller Pulls Bet Back in Controversial Hand on High Stakes Poker
Table Of Contents
Sam "Senor Tilt" Kiki grabbed a stack of chips with a marginal hand before pulling them back after noticing his opponent seemed ready to call the bet in a controversial hand during the third episode of High Stakes Poker Season 15.
The hand was a bit reminiscent to the infamous Live at the Bike "Joke Bet" where Armenian Mike, who missed his draw, shoved a rack of chips forward and received a snap-call from Ryan Feldman, who rivered a full house. Mike quickly pulled his chips back, attempting to play it off as if he never placed a legal wager, leading many to refer to it as the most blatant angle ever livestreamed.
Kiki's play in a hand against Darin Feinstein may not have been as egregious, but it will create some debate as to whether he should have been held to the bet.
Controversial Poker Hand Right Off the Bat
The aforementioned hand kicked off Episode 3 of High Stakes Poker on PokerGO in a controversial way. Senor Tilt, a regular on Hustler Casino Live, began the action with a raise to $2,000 with 7♠7♣. Feinstein then came back with a three-bet to $8,000 with A♣K♠.
Comedian Kevin Hart called from the small blind with 8♦6♦, as did the original raiser. The flop came out 9♥K♣5♠ and action checked to Feinstein, who bet $16,000 with top pair. Hart folded his straight draw, but Kiki called with a pair and then picked up draws when the 8♣ hit on the turn. He again checked, and then faced a bet of $20,000.
The flush and straight possibilities convinced Senor Tilt to semi-bluff with a check-raise to $65,000. That aggressiveness didn't work, as Feinstein snap-called before the 3♦ appeared on the river, no improvement to either hand.
Kiki, realizing he likely wasn't going to win at showdown, grabbed a stack of chips, which appeared to be worth around $90,000, before Feinstein told him, "I'll probably fold if you bet."
He ignored the comment and moved his arm forward, crossing the betting line, and touched the felt with his hand that was holding the stack of chips, before glancing at Feinstein and then returning the chips to his stack, somewhat similar to Armenian Mike's act in the infamous Live at the Bike hand.
Both players smiled and laughed, so clearly Feinstein wasn't bothered by the newest "joke bet." But commentator Nick Schulman, a Poker Hall of Famer, was critical of the play.
"He sort of motioned forward, it l ooked like," Schulman said. "We're in the wild right now, AJ, but what Kiki did there was just a little bit ..."
Rough Episode for Senor Tilt
Kiki and Feinstein would soon find themselves battling for another pot, this time neither player had much on a 3♦K♣A♠Q♣4♣ board. Feinstein, holding J♥8♥, bet $60,000 into a pot of $67,500, putting his opponent, who had 10♠4♠ for a tiny pair, in a tough spot. The bluff would get through, giving Feinstein consecutive pots against his new rival.
Senor Tilt would get owned in another hand, but this time against a different opponent. Hart, who missed his straight draw with 4♥3♥ on a board showing 2♣7♣K♦5♣2♦, bluffed into a pot of $177,500 with a $100,000 wager. Kiki went into the tank with K♥J♣ before folding to the former PokerStars ambassador's aggression.
Kiki would finally get some of the chips he sent to Feinstein in a $111,000 pot he took down with a straight on the river that cracked two pair. But Feinstein would get the best of the Monkey Tilt sportsbook founder in this episode.
