Almost But No Cigar for Cao

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Senhao Cao
Senhao Cao

The flop was {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} when Chase Griesbach jammed. Senhao Cao called for less, having around 35,000 and the cards were turned over.

Senhao Cao: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Chase Griesbach: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Queens were well in front but a {10-Diamonds} turn brought a runner-runner flush to light. Griesbach held on to scoop once the {6-Hearts} river completed the board and Cao was eliminated.

End of Day on the Loom

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The play has tightened up in the Day 1b flight since they returned from the break. Chips are moving around slowly but not many notable pots have been making an entrance.

Rathi Jumps to the Top

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The pot had already grown to about 65,000 before arriving at the table and {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades} was on the board. William Jacobson checked to Mahesh Rathi who bet 16,500.

Jacobson came out of the think tank after a few minutes, and he decided to call. Rathi turned over {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for aces over sevens and Jacobson mucked his hand, shipping the pot to Rathi who now sits on top of the field.

Armstrong Takes an Exit as Stone Adds Another Stack

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Kimberly Stone
Kimberly Stone

Connor Armstrong moved all in for his last 11,000. Kimberly Stone, Wendy Nguyen, and Mahesh Rathi called. The {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop hit the table and Stone bet 20,000. Both Nguyen and Rathi folded, leaving just two for a showdown.

Armstrong flipped over {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Stone showed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The {9-Spades}{j-Clubs} runout sealed it for Stone who added another as the end of the day draws near and Armstrong was eliminated.

Young Stacks Wang as End of Day Appoaches

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Maxwell Young opened to 3,200 and Michael Wang moved all in, having around 30,000 and Young called without hesitation.

Michael Wang: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Maxwell Young: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The flop of {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} gave some hope for Wang but that instantly vanished when the {k-Diamonds} landed. Wang was then drawing dead to the {j-Clubs} river and Young took the lead of Day 1b.
