Five flights have come and four of those are in the books in the Main Event here at The Lodge Card Club. The fifth flight is nearly finished as well. That means there is one last chance, Day 1f, to find a bag for Day 2 and work your way to a piece of the $2,000,000 Guaranteed prize pool.

Like all Day 1 flights, players will receive 50,000 chips and have 50-minute blinds in which to put them to use. Play will go until the end of level nine today or until 15% of the field remains, whichever comes first. Late registration and unlimited re-entry will be available until the start of level seven.

Players will be chasing Raymond Flint, who managed to bag an impressive 401,500 chips and secure the event chip lead thus far.

All players that advance from a Day 1 flight return on Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. for Day 2, which will feature ten levels of play at 60 minutes each.

The PokerNews live reporting team will bring all the action from this Saturday night flight and the rest of the event here on out. Stay tuned right here for all of your updates.

Brabham Becomes the Master

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante
Thomas Brabham
Thomas Brabham

The action picked up on the river with Thomas Brabham making a bet of 4,000 into a pot of about the same. The board read {3-}{6-}{a-}{3-}{3-}.

Grasshopper Lee thought for a bit from the small blind and decided to put in the check-raise to the tune of 12,000.

"Did you really do that?" said Brabham as he stared at the three threes on the board. Ultimately, he did put in the call.

Lee exposed {6-}{6-} for a full house that would beat any single ace. Unfortunately for him, Brabham had not one, but two aces in {a-}{a-} to win himself a healthy level one pot.

Cox Makes the Nuts and Gets Paid

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Bill Cox
Bill Cox

Action picked up on the turn with a board showing {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Charles Wardlaw led into a pot of about 6,500 for a bet of 3,000. Bill Cox quickly went all in for about 15,000 effective, what was left in Wardlaw's stack.

Wardlaw thought for a bit and eventually went with his hand, but soon saw the bad news. Cox flipped {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the turned nut-straight, while Wardlaw was holding {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for turned two pair.

"I thought, 'not jack-nine, please just a queen.'"

The {9-Diamonds} didn't fill up Wardlaw and his chips were slid over to Cox.

Roesel Bets all Three Streets

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Dale Roesel
Dale Roesel

Action picked up on the flop in a single-raised pot that held about 500 chips. Dale Roesel led from the cutoff for 1,000 and found a caller on the button in Joseph Kirkhart.

The turn came the {2-Hearts}. Roesel wasn't slowing down and now bet for 2,300. Kirkhart continued to hit the call button and took the hand to a river.

The river {8-Clubs} hit the board. Once more Roesel bet, this time a bet of 6,700. Kirkhart thought for a bit, but shrugged and put in the chips.

Roesel showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for two pair and Kirkhart mucked.

"Hell of a flop, I had ace-six," said Kirkhart, claiming to have also flopped two pair.

"You lost the minimum. If I had the ace-six and you had the ace-queen, I would have lost a lot more," replied Roesel.

All the same, Roesel stacked a nice-sized pot at level two.

Liu Extracts Value With the Slow Play

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Yayun Liu
Yayun Liu

Bryson Byrd raised from early position to 600. All players folded around to Yayun Liu in the big blind who made the call.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Liu checked to Byrd who continued his aggression with a continuation bet of 600. Liu made the call.

The turn {7-Spades} seemed to slow the action as both players now checked.

On the river {10-Spades} Liu decided to take the betting lead and put out 4,000. Byrd didn't think long before putting in the chips.

Liu flipped over the unexpected {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and dragged the pot with the play.

Jacobson Flops a Set and Doubles Up

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
William Jacobson
William Jacobson

Action picked up on the river with a pot of about 32,000.

Action was on William Jacobson who carefully thought about his options looking at a board of {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs}. He held about 22,000 in chips and his lone opponent, Leon Khachadour had nearly the same stack. He decided to go all in and slid his chips across the middle. Khachadour couldn't have called quicker.

Jacobson revealed his {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for the flopped set. Khachadour showed the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}, the turn and the river gave him top two pair.

Khachadour was left with only 300 chips and was busted shortly after.

Castelluccio's Queens Straight Outs Compton

Scott Castelluccio
Scott Castelluccio

Action picked up on the turn in a large pot of about 29,000 in the middle. Two players stared at a board of {2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Scott Castelluccio put out four orange chips, worth 20,000 and enough to cover the 9,000 remaining of John Compton.

Compton thought for about a minute with his tournament life on the line before he slid every chip into the pot.

Castelluccio showed his {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} which was one pip better than the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} that Compton showed. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Compton was ousted.

Polk Jumps in and Starts Out Hot

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Doug Polk has officially entered the main event and didn't take long to get involved in the action.

Chan Pelton raised to 1,100 from early position and Polk raised it up to 3,500 from the button while mid-conversation with his neighbor at the table. Pelton quickly and confidently four-bet to 11,100.

Polk didn't think too long before announcing, "all in," and sliding his stack of about 54,000 into the middle. Pelton said, "Eh, whatever," and stuck his stack in the middle as well.

Polk had the goods with the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} while Pelton was holding the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

"Give him a three!" yelled a tablemate.

The window obliged, and the {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts} hit the board.

"No!" yelled Polk.

"Keep it low!" the whole table seemed to be rooting against Polk.

"Jack!" yelled Polk, looking for the gutshot to win the pot.

The {7-Hearts} wasn't what he was looking for.

"Jack!" Polk pleaded again.

This time the deck heard his pleas and answered with the {j-Hearts}.

"The ol' Lodge on the river," smiled Polk. He scooped a massive pot and catapulted himself into one of the day's chip leaders while Pelton busted shortly after.
