Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The Day 1d flight was the biggest thus far, adding 162 entries by the end of late registration in Event 9: $800 NLH $750,000 Guaranteed here in Round Rock, Texas at The Lodge Poker Club. That number was shaved down to 20 survivors by night's end who all booked a ticket into Day 2.

Finishing on top of this flight was Jason Aden who managed to bag 461,000. Aden took an early lead when he flopped a straight versus Caitlin Comeskey who held pocket aces. He hovered near the top for the rest of the night, but it was a flip with Raul Garza that solidified his spot on top, having his big slick takedown the ladies of Garza.

Cameron Mixson bridged the gap on Level 16, almost passing Aden for the lead but had to settle for second on the leaderboard with a stack of 456,000. Rounding out the top five are Adam Garcia (446,000), Jeremy Whalen (407,000), and Mitchell Halverson (388,000).

Dejuante Alexander finished the night in what was a cooler of a hand. Philp Jackson pushed his chips into the middle and the room became excited when they heard Alexander call. Jackson had ace-king but Alexander tabled aces and the board ran out dry. Jackson was dubbed the official Day 2 bubble boy and the rest of the field bagged up for the night.

All survivors of the six Day 1 flights will combine on Wednesday, May 18, at 2 p.m. to crown a champion. Blinds will increase to 40-minutes in length on Day 2 and a 60-minute dinner break will be added after six levels have been played. The full seating chart, prize pool, and payouts will be posted prior.

Dream Flop Turns into Chip Lead Pot

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jason Aden
Jason Aden

Upon arrival, Caitlin Comeskey had shoved over the top of a bet by Jason Aden and he called for his 143,100 stack. The turned board showed {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Comeskey tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Aden revealed the bad news for her, showing his {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a flopped straight. Comeskey was drawing dead to the {k-Diamonds} river, shipping most of her stack to Aden who now leads the flight. Comeksey took an exit just a few hands afterward.

Chocron Splashing Around in Day 1d

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
ALBERTO CHOCRON
ALBERTO CHOCRON

Alberto Chocron opened to 4,000 from under the gun and on his left was Joshua Lien who slapped his stack, totaling around 23,500. Chocron called without hesitation, putting Lien at risk.

Joshua Lien: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Alberto Chocron: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The board came {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and pocket jacks earned Lien a double.

Just a few hands later, Maxwell Young moved is remaining chips into the middle and it was none other than Chocron hooking him up with a runout.

Unfortunately for Young it was Chocron in the driver's seat on this one with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} versus the {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} of Young. The dealer rolled out {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} on the felt and Chocron scooped in the chips to bust Young.

Two bigger names to take a seat are Dejuante Alexander and Adam Hendrix who both have just under $3 million in tournament earnings. Keep an eye on each as the series unfolds right here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas.
