The Clock is Running But Day 1a Not Yet

The field in the Opening Freeroll has already surpassed more than 400 entries and some international players such as Christian Harder, Stephen Song, Julian Warhurst, Gary Thompson, and Martin Sedlak are all waiting in line to get in. Simultaneously, the clock for Day 1a of the Circuit Main Event has started automatically but the action has not started yet. Some dealers are already preparing the starting stacks, though, and it is expected that the cards for the opening flight will be going in the air soon.

Start of the Tournament Delayed

Due to the massive waiting line to get all players into the Opening Freeroll Event, tournament staff just announced in Chinese and English that the start for Day 1a as well as 1b later today in the TLPT Circuit Main Event has been pushed back by one hour. That means the action for the first flight will kick off at approximately 3 p.m. local time, by which the queue at the registration desk is hopefully a lot shorter.

The stage is set and the inaugural standalone festival of The Lord Poker Tournament (TLPT) is officially underway at the Jeju Shinhwa World Hotel on Jeju Island, known to host several international live poker events throughout the year. While TLPT has already hosted tournaments in cooperation with other live events in the past, this is actually their first event and it comes with a massive overall guarantee of 8 Million US Dollars.

There a total of 13 tournaments as part of this festival in cooperation with title sponsor AAPoker at the lavish Landing Casino and the opening day features two events as part of the TLPT Jeju Circuit Series. Their Main Event has four starting days featuring varying buy-in amounts and level durations with a massive guarantee of $700,000 and all of the flights include unlimited re-entries allowed for the first nine levels and following break.

Day 1a is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. local time and has a level duration of 20 minutes throughout with all participants receiving 25,000 in chips for a buy-in of $500. That's good enough for 250 big blinds in the first level of the day, but the action will certainly accelerate quickly from there thanks to the fast-paced structure.

After the end of level 12, there will be a 40-minute dinner break and the opening flight is scheduled to play down to the top 5% of the field. All remaining three Day 1 have different price tags and respective "in the money" goals with all survivors then advancing to Day 2. Players also have the option to participate in multiple flights and will combine their bagged up chips for the restart in the money.

The tournament also features a 30-second shot clock from start to finish as well with five additional time banks awarded when they enter the vent and another five time banks once the nine-handed final table has been reached. Regardless of the finish time in each starting flight, the blinds will roll back to 3,000-5,000 with a big blind ante of 5,000 for Day 2, which will then play down to the nine-handed final table.

For the first two days of this event, all PokerNews updates will focus on the Day flights in this event (Day 1a and Day 1c) while also providing the chip counts of all survivors for the other starting days as well. The action will then continue from start to finish thereafter until a winner has been crowned.
