Thompson Doubles Through Nielsen
Level 22
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Gary Thompson was the short stack in the room and ripped all in for his last 850,000 in early position. It folded around to Martin Nielsen in the big blind who asked for a count and then called to put Thompson at risk.
Gary Thompson: A♥10♠
Martin Nielsen: Q♦10♦
The flop came 10♥9♣6♥ to give both players top pair but it was Thompson who was out front with the better kicker. The 3♥ on the turn and the 7♣ on the river changed nothing as Thompson doubled up.
