Robbie Matthews Eliminated in 6th Place ($6,139)

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Robbie Matthews - Sixth Place
Robbie Matthews - Sixth Place

Robbie Matthews opened for 36,000 from the cutoff, and Daniel Holmes defended his big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and both players checked. A {10-Clubs} turned, and Holmes bet 42,000. Matthews shipped it for 220,000. After tanking for a bit, Holmes called.

Holmes: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Matthews: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Matthews had turned his gin card after checking back, and he was in fantastic position to bust his opponent. The dealer burned and turned the {j-Clubs} though, filling Holmes up and causing Matthews to knock over his chair in disbelief.

Down to his last 7,000 after the ante, Holmes got it all in the next hand after Shawn Schoreck opened to 60,000 under the gun. Tom Annonson called on the button.

After a flop of {3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Schoreck bet 100,000, and Annonson raised to what looked like 230,000. Schoreck immediately moved all in, and Annonson called.

Annonson: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Schoreck: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Matthews: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

A turn of {3-Diamonds} left an already-trailing Annonson in dire straits since kings up would do him no good. The river was paint, but it was the {q-Spades}, not the king Annonson needed, and he shipped all but his last 50,000 to an elated Schoreck.

Mihail Karasoulis Eliminated in 7th Place ($4,661)

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Mihail Karasoulis - Seventh Place
Mihail Karasoulis - Seventh Place

Mihail Karasoulis shoved for 76,000 from the button, and Tom Annonson called out of the big blind.

Karasoulis: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Annonson: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The dealer placed a flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} on the felt.

"That's good," Karasoulis said, clearly hoping for a chop. "Big one."

The turn was a {3-Spades}. The dealer burned and turned a {9-Clubs} river.

"That's bad," Karasoulis said. He shook his conqueror's hand and headed for the payout desk.

Allen Kessler Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,638)

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Allen Kessler - Eighth Place
Allen Kessler - Eighth Place

Allen Kessler shoved over a raise from Shawn Schoreck, who call for the remainder of Kessler's stack.

Kessler: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Schoreck: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Kessler pulled ahead on the {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, but Schoreck spiked the {5-Spades} on the turn to leave Kessler drawing dead. Kessler made worthless trips on the {k-Clubs} river.

Michael Benton - Ninth Place
Michael Benton - Ninth Place

Michael Benton got all in with {q-}{q-} against the {a-Spades}{j-Spades} of Robbie Matthews. Benton made a set but Matthews beat him with a flush on the {3-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} runout, and Benton was done in ninth.

Erica Sumner - 10th Place
Erica Sumner - 10th Place

Daniel Holmes opened for 20,000 and Erica Sumner shoved all in for just under 100,000. Holmes called.

Holmes: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Sumner: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop gave Sumner a flush draw, but she was unable to improve when the {2-Clubs} and {5-Clubs} hit the board, and the last woman remaining and former chip leader headed for the payout desk.

Justin Truesdell Eliminated in 12th Place ($2,387); David Chocheles Eliminated in 11th Place ($2,387)

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Justin Truesdell - 12th Place
Justin Truesdell - 12th Place

Justin Truesdell shoved all in under the gun for 46,000, and David Chocheles called with 6,000 behind. Kou Vang called as well in the big blind, and he bet 6,000 dark after tabling {a-Spades}{10-Spades} thinking he had put his live opponent all in.

After the flop came {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Chocheles shook his head and laughed before tossing in his chips.

Chocheles: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Truesdell: {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Vang looked poised to score a double elimination, and he did just that when the {4-Spades} and {7-Hearts} completed the board.
