Nick Pupillo opened to 55,000 in the cutoff and got three-bet to 135,000 by Ken Payne in the big blind. Pupillo called, and the flop brought . Payne seemed ready to bet about 175,000, but upon realizing it was almost half of his remaining stack, he shoved.

The total was 393,000, and Pupillo cut out enough chips to call, then pushed them in.
Payne was in great shape to double, but the turn gave Pupillo trips. The river meant it was a painful end for Baraboo, Wisc., native Payne.
