Wazwaz Eliminates Stevermer

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Dennis Stevermer
Dennis Stevermer

Rob Wazwaz opened to 2,500 in late position, and Dennis Stevermer said he was all in from the big blind.

"Gimme an exact chip count," Wazwaz said. Told it was 24,200, he called moments later.

Wazwaz: {a-}{j-}
Stevermer: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The dealer spread a flop of {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Stevermer pounded the felt sharply in submission.

"Good luck, guys," he said, rising from his seat.

"You've got clubs," someone said after the {3-Clubs} arrived on the turn, but it was a {3-Diamonds} river to give Wazwaz a boat.

Hodge Folds a Big One

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mark Hodge
Mark Hodge

Big blind Brian Zupancich three-bet to 7,700 preflop after Mark Hodge opened early, and Hodge called. The flop brought {7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, and a tiny continuation-bet of 3,500 from Zupancich. Hodge called, and a {k-Diamonds} hit the turn. Zupancich shoved all in, and Hodge asked for a count. It was 30,000, and Hodge decided to lay down his {a-Diamonds}{q-} face-up.

"You showed me, I'll show you," Zupancich said, turning up {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for top set on the flop. He asked why Hodge didn't shove the flop.

Hodge said the 3,500 made him suspicious.

Vang Loses a Race

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player in middle position shoved all in for 14,400, and Kou Vang made the call on the button.

Vang: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Vang's opponent stood up, but Gerald Heckathorn told him to sit back down. Heckathorn's call was correct, as the board rolled out {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}, leaving tens full the winner.
