Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Nick Pupillo

Bill Rogers raised to 50,000 and Abhishek Yerra called. MSPT Pro Nick Pupillo shoved all in for his last 131,000. Bill Rogers reshoved all in for 436,000, putting pressure on Yerra. Yerra folded and Pupillo and Rogers were heads up.

Pupillo had {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Rogers had {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Pupillo was eliminated.

With his 21st place finish, Nick Pupillo is just 50 points behind Blake Bohn on this year's Player of the Year rankings. It was previously stated that he would need 27th place to take the lead, but the math was based on 600 entrants. Instead he needed to place 18th to take the lead, but fell just short.

Carmin Argiero Eliminated in 24th place ($2,974), Lamphere Over 700,000

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The board read {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Carmin Argiero checked. Adam Lamphere also checked and Bill Rogers bets 75,000. Argiero then shoves all in for 336,000. The action fell back to Lamphere, who called the all in. Rogers went into the tank, wondering what to do. Eventually he folded.

Lamphere showed a set of eights, {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Argiero showed {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of sixes and a gut-shot straight draw. The turn and river completed the board, {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, giving Lamphere quads, even though he didn't need them.

Rogers said that he folded pocket nines.
