Rubinberg's Flush Outdrawn

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Two players shipped over a 6,000 continuation-bet from Gary Herstein on a {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and he folded {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} in frustration, his second time mucking kings on the flop recently. Andy Rubinberg had {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped flush, and his opponent had {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. The {6-Clubs} turn and {3-Hearts} river gave that player a boat though, to Rubinberg's dismay. He sent his opponent 10,600.

Herstein expressed amazement at the hands calling 2,500 preflop.

Ross Doubles

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Mike Ross
Mike Ross

"East Coast" Mike Ross bet 3,200 from under the gun on a {2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs} board, and his opponent in the big blind came out with a check-raise to 10,000. Ross immediately announced he was all in, and the big blind called quickly with {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Ross had him beat with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} though, and the {4-Diamonds} was a brick on the end. Ross collected 22,100 from his foe.

Hammett Turns One Dead

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

A flop of {k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} looked to have appealed to everyone at a table in the corner of the room, as a player who opened from early position to 1,200 preflop bet 2,600 on the flop. He saw a raise to 6,200 from Scott Hammett on the button and then a shove of nearly 30,000 from the player in the small blind. The preflop raiser folded, and Hammett snap-called off his stack of 21,225.

Hammett: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Small blind: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The turn came {8-Hearts}, and Hammett sealed the double. The opener said he mucked ace-king.

Agonizing Fold for Herstein

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Gary Herstein four-bet to 11,500 from early position over a player in the cutoff who made it 4,800 to go preflop. That player called the four-bet, seeing an {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. Herstein checked, and the cutoff shoved for about 10,000 effect. An agonized Herstein took about three minutes to fold {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} face-up and his opponent showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Rubinberg Looking for Another Final Table

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Andy Rubinberg raised to 3,000 after an opponent bet 1,100 from an early position on a {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. The bettor called, and he check-called another 4,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn. The {4-Spades} hit the river, and Rubinberg fired a bet that barely got out of his hands before his opponent mucked a {10-Diamonds} face-up.

Rubinberg finished runner-up at Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk in February for more than $50,000.
