Tiny Bet Tran

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Henry Tran
Henry Tran

After the turn went check-check, Henry Tran put out what looked like a tower of green T25 chips from the hijack against cutoff Levi Blanchette. The board had come {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Blanchette looked quizzically at the bet, which was into a pot of more than 20,000, asking the dealer how much it was. Turned out, a few black T100 chips were mixed in, and the total was 625.

"Can I take it back?" Tran joked when he saw it wasn't a strictly green chip bet.

"So weird," Blanchette said, smiling and shaking his head before flipping in a call. Tran showed {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for aces up, but Blanchette had turned him dead with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

Vanstrom Runs into Trips

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jason Vanstrom bet 4,200 on a {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} board and was called by a player on the button. He bet again on the {j-Diamonds} river, putting his opponent all in for 9,475, only to see the player snap-call. Vanstrom tabled two aces, but he was against {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Trips for Abuzar

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Karim Abuzar
Karim Abuzar

On a {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, a player in the hijack shoved all in for roughly 16,000, and Karim Abuzar jammed for more in the blinds, folding out the other players.

"You got the big blind special, the deuce, huh?" the all-in player said, showing {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for top pair.

Abuzar did have the deuce, {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and no queen arrived to save his opponent.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Turner Backdoors Full

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
JT Turner
JT Turner

A middle-position player bet 5,000 on a completed community of {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} after one check, and the player on his left called off for less. JT Turner jammed for 16,750 in the hijack, and the player who checked from the blinds tank-folded. The bettor made a reluctant call after about a minute, and Turner flipped {8-Hearts}{6-Spades} for eights full, crushing his opponent's {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. We didn't see the third player's hand.

St. John Runs into Queens

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Michael St. John got his last 8,000 or so in from the small blind with {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, but unfortunately for him, the big blind woke up with {q-}{q-}. St. John was unable to improve, and he headed out, unable to repeat a seventh-place finish from last time, when he banked more than $17,000.

Mathews Gets Tricky With Aces

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

David Mathews raised to 650 in the small blind, and the big blind made a big three-bet to 3,500. Mathews called, seeing a {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. He checked and saw his opponent bet 4,700. Mathews jammed for approximately 41,000, and his opponent called with two kings. Mathews had him crushed with {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and running sevens kept him in front.

"Rebuild time," the big blind said. "Didn't put you on aces."

Boudreau Busted

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Kevin "Phwap" Boudreau recently busted out. As Jason Vanstrom told it, his fellow November 2014 final table participant got it in for his last 10,500 preflop with {9-}{9-}, the same hand he lost the most crucial pot last year with. This time, he only had a very slight equity edge as his opponent had {a-}{q-}. The flop came {q-}{5-}{5-}, and that was all she wrote for Boudreau, who looks to have opted against reentering. We'll keep an eye out in case that changes.
