Nguyen Doubles Through Boone

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Men Nguyen bet 3,000 when Jim Boone checked to him on an {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. Boone made it 7,000 to go, and Nguyen called. On the {5-Clubs} turn, Boone slowed down and checked. Nguyen bet 9,000, and Boone leaned back in his chair an moved all in after a minute or so of thought. Nguyen called for about 11,000 more.

Nguyen: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Boone: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Boone needed a jack, but he missed as the {7-Spades} gave Nguyen a boat. After the hand, Nguyen clarified that he is not, in fact, "The Master."

Fiorenza Pushing for Lead

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Toni Fiorenza bet 3,000 when a slew of players, at least four, checked to her on the button with a {3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop occupying the middle of the felt. Fast folds followed until the hijack made the call, and a {k-Hearts} led to two quick checks. On the {7-Hearts} river, the hijack bet 3,500 and Fiorenza snap-called.

The hijack showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a set, but Fiorenza had caught him on the river with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, good for a straight.

Fiorenza has a pile of chips, but unfortunately for her, the only player who covers (Chan Nguyen) her sits on her left.

Raymer Doubles, Remains Short

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

"Three thousand, nine hundred, and fifty," Greg Raymer calmly said. That left him with just one T25 chip, and he was called by a player in the hijack. The two checked down a {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} run out, and Raymer showed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to win the pot with top pair.

Wilson Busted; Ross Loses a Pile

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
James Wilson
James Wilson

James Wilson just busted out when his top pair on a queen-high board was run down by Eddy Mroczkowski, who flopped a flush draw and got there with {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

At another table, Mike Ross got it in from late position with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} against an opponent in the blinds holding {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and didn't improve as the board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Boone Gets a Nice River

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jim Boone bet 2,800 from middle position when an opponent in the blinds checked to him on {7-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The player called, and he check-called 3,800 more on the {a-Diamonds} river. Boone showed {j-}{10-} for a boat, and his opponent tossed {k-}{q-} into the middle for a worthless straight on the river that enabled Boone to get paid.
