Jim Boone Wins Early Massive Pot, Eliminates Two

Jim Boone - Day 2
Jim Boone - Day 2

Jim Boone raised to 7,000 under the gun , John Joachim reraised to 22,000 in middle position. Next to act, Jim Henry shoved all in. Patricia Bott reshoved all in over the top for 35,000 in the small blind.

With action back on Boone, he called, as did John Joachim.

The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Boone checked, Joachim bet 20,000, and Boone shoved all in. After thinking for a moment, Joachim folded his hand.

Jim Boone: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Jim Henry: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Patricia Bott: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Boone was in great shape with his flopped set of eights, even after both of the all ins turned a pair of aces when the {a-Spades} came on the turn. The river was the {5-Clubs}, and with that, Jim Boone chipped up to just under 300,000, while Patricia Bott and Jim Henry were eliminated from play.
