Woolworth Doesn't Double-Cross Wazwaz

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Ally Woolworth bet 3,200 from an early position on a {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, and Rob Wazwaz made the call in the cutoff. Action went check-check on the {3-Clubs} turn, and Woolworth fired 5,425 on the {4-Hearts} river.

"Will you show me if I fold?" Wazwaz asked.

Woolworth remained silent for about a minute before uttering a "yes."

Wazwaz immediately mucked his cards, and Woolworth offered a new deal.

"I'll show you one," she said. Wazwaz waved his hand at her, and she laughed and showed {a-}{9-}. "I would never renege on you," she said.

Olson Doubles Through Wazwaz

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Rob Wazwaz opened to 625 in early position, and when we came back to the table moments later we found him putting two shorter stacks at risk, including former champion Jonathan Olson.

Wazwaz: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Olson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Third player: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The player with threes was the shortest of the three with 4,600, and Wazwaz called for some queens. He got on as {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Spades} flopped, but no further help emerged as the {2-Diamonds} turn was followed by an {a-Clubs} river. Despite the setback, Wazwaz still has a nice early stack.

"Why does he have to ship it in with the threes?" Wazwaz wondered.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Barnard Stacks Up

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Joe Barnard is off to a fabulous start with nearly three times the starting stack.

He recently busted an opponent in a three-bet pot when {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} flopped, and Barnard checked from middle position. His opponent bet 2,250, and Barnard put her all in for 6,000 more. She shrugged and called, flipping {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, but Barnard had flopped a set with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and he held up through the last two streets.

Dirksen Takes a Seat

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

One of the players to recently grab a seat in the tournament is Dustin Dirksen. The Iowa native has had some success on the Mid-States Poker Tour before, coming in fifth at MSPT Running Aces in early 2014 for about $17,000 after bagging a chip lead in one of the Day 1 flights. He has just north of $1 million in tournament winnings but is perhaps best known for participating in the online nosebleeds during the heyday of the high stakes games on Full Tilt.

Quick First Bullet for Kirby

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Matt Kirby just got his last few thousand in preflop and was called by two opponents. A {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop led to another player getting it all in for about 3,000, and the player on the button put him at risk.

Kirby: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Button: {9-}{9-}
Small blind: {k-}{10-}

The turn brought an {a-Clubs} for Kirby, but the small blind hit trips on the {10-Hearts} river to take the whole pot.

Kirby said he lost the majority of his stack when he flopped bottom two with {3-Spades}{2-Spades} and was counterfeited on the turn after getting it in against a higher pair. He immediately reentered after busting.
