Hodge Eliminates Boone

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Mark Hodge
Mark Hodge

Mark Hodge put Jim Boone at risk preflop, with the latter starting the hand with around 35,000. Hodge had him barely covered and had the best of it with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} against Boone's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

"Keep 'em little," Hodge urged, and the dealer obliged as a {j-}{10-} high flop was followed by all small cards.

The Mid-States Poker Tour Player of the Year leader has gained some momentum late on Day 1b as he seeks yet another cash.

Reichard's Turn

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Mark Hodge opened for a raise, and Brett Reichard made it 12,000 in middle position. A third player jammed for about 30,000 on the button, and Reichard called after Hodge folded. The all-in player showed {a-}{k-}.

"I lost this one before," Reichard said, showing {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. This time, the board came in his favor, {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, and Reichard collected the pot.

Matt Alexander
Matt Alexander

Matt Alexander lost most of his stack a bit before the break with {j-}{j-}, running into a player holding {q-}{q-} who took more than 30,000 from the Mid-States Poker Tour pro.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Ross Busts Pham

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Mike Ross
Mike Ross

Mike Ross opened to 3,500 under the gun, and Travis Remmert called on the button. Small blind Steve Pham shoved all in for about 22,000, and Ross immediately announced he was all in as well.

"Can I get a count?" Remmert said after a few moments. Ross cut down most of his stack and it was about 49,500. Remmert opted to fold, and Ross showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, dominating Pham's {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Remmert mucked {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} face-up.

He was regretting that fold as the board came {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, but an {a-Spades} river left him patting himself on the back.

Aces for Hohenstein (Again?)

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ryan Hohenstein bet 11,000 on a completed board of {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades} in middle position and got a call from an opponent in the cutoff. He showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

"Again?" the cutoff said as Hohenstein dragged the pot.

Seitz Picks Off Vang

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Kou Vang
Kou Vang

According to Mike Ross, Jason Seitz made a "sick call" with ace-high against Kou Vang, who jammed with seven-high on a double-paired board. Vang is out, and Seitz has a nice stack over 100,000.
