Kregelka Cracks Aces

Roger Kregelka

Allan Haupert checked a board of {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} in the cutoff, and Roger Kregelka bet an unknown amount. Haupert moved all in and Kregelka snap-called for about 80,000.

Kregelka: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Haupert: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Kregelka had it locked up already with a flush and the meaningless river was a {k-Diamonds}.

"Can't Win 'Em All, Kid"

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Rob Wazwaz
Rob Wazwaz

We found Rob Wazwaz with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} in front of him on a board of {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. His opponent had shipped it with {9-Spades}{8-Spades} on the flop, according to Wazwaz, and he faded the flush draw despite the arrival of a straight draw for his opponent on the turn.

"Wow," the player who missed all his outs said.

"Can't win 'em all, kid," Wazwaz said.

Wazwaz Eliminates Boone

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jim Boone
Jim Boone

Jim Boone three-bet to 75,000 preflop after Rob Wazwaz opened under the gun, and Wazwaz called. Both players checked the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, and the {6-Diamonds} turn prompted 70,000 from Boone. Wazwaz moved all in and Boone snap-called.

Boone: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Wazwaz: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Boone needed a diamond, and the {5-Hearts} wasn't it.

Double Elimination

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Yer Vang
Yer Vang

Greg Movrich got all in for 330,000 with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} on a {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board, but Dan Goepel had {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush. The {4-Diamonds} river did not pair the board, eliminating Movrich.

At the other table, Yer Vang was all in with {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} against the {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} of Rob Wazwaz. Three diamonds flopped to give Vang total command but the {2-Spades} turn sent the pot to Wazwaz, meaning there's now 10 players left who will redraw for final table seats.

Matt Hauge opened to 60,000 under the gun and got one call before Colin Eric Lovelock three-bet to 159,000. Hauge shoved all in, the squeezed player folded, and Lovelock called off 648,000.

Lovelock: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Hauge: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Paul "Big Daddy" Elfelt - 9th Place

Dan Goepel raised to 75,000 under the gun and Paul Elfelt put his 93,000 in from the next spot. Action folded to Colin Eric Lovelock, who called in the big blind. Lovelock bet 75,000 on the {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Goepel folded.

Lovelock: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Elfelt: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Lovelock's pair held as it ran out {6-Spades} and {5-Hearts}.

Azulay Lucky Again

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Yossi Azulay
Yossi Azulay

Yossi Azulay pushed all in for 565,000 in middle position and Brian Smith called from the button.

Smith: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Azulay: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Both flopped top pair as {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} hit the felt but Azulay still needed an eight. He got two when the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn and {8-Clubs} the river and he doubled up again with a dominated hand.

Brian Smith Eliminated in 7th Place ($16,965)

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Brian Smith - 7th Place
Brian Smith - 7th Place

Colin Eric Lovelock opened for 225,000 in middle position and called Brian Smith's shove.

Smith: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Lovelock: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

Smith needed held and found some on the {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, though Lovelock held two blockers. The {7-Spades} closed off numerous outs for Smith as it gave Lovelock a flush draw, and the {5-Hearts} river was a blank.
