Schetter Doubles Through Lauson

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Kenneth Schetter pushed under the gun and Travis Lauson made the call from the big blind.

Lauson: {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Schetter: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Lauson had lives and flopped a flush draw on {3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Two bricks followed though, and Schetter doubled through.

"No-kill Kenny," Lauson said.

"This One Really Makes No Sense"

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Travis Lauson limped in, which drew some comments from his opponents, and Dan Goepel checked his option. Both checked the flop and Goepel bet 160,000 on the {3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board. Lauson called and Goepel checked the {a-Hearts}. Lauson bet 600,000.

"This one makes no sense," Goepel said. "This one really makes no sense."

Nonetheless, he folded.

Colin Eric Lovelock - 4th Place
Colin Eric Lovelock - 4th Place

Colin Eric Lovelock shoved all in under the gun and Travis Lauson reshipped in the small. The big blind folded.

Lovelock: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Lauson: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"You are golden," Lauson declared. "I have never won with pocket queens."

He did so this time though, fading first a straight draw then a flush draw on the {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board.

Travis Lauson made it 500,000 on the button and called Kenneth Schetter's all in.

Lauson: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Schetter: {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Lauson was left with two outs after the dealer spread the {3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop. He managed to hit not one, but both of them: the {4-Diamonds} on the turn and the {4-Clubs} on the river.

The tournament is now heads-up.

Goepel Doubles Through Lauson

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Travis Lauson took total command of the heads-up match early and had Dan Goepel in dire straits when the latter limped in and saw Lauson raise to 700,000. Goepel tanked awhile and moved all in, and Lauson called with {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, saying he had no choice. Goepel was ahead with {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and he held on as the board ran out {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Too Late for One Time

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Travis Lauson called immediately when Dan Goepel shoved from the button for about 1.1 million.

Lauson: {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Goepel: {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The dealer spread a {q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop.

"One time," Lauson said. "I wanna use my one time. Said it too late..."

He didn't improve and Goepel doubled.

Travis Lauson Eliminated in 2nd Place ($65,889)

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Travis Lauson - 2nd Place
Travis Lauson - 2nd Place

Dan Goepel called 700,000 preflop and checked a {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Travis Lauson fired 500,000. Goepel took about a minute and then pushed all in. Lauson folded, ceding the chip lead but only barely.

Shortly thereafter, the two got it in preflop for everything.

Lauson: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Goepel: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

"Come on," Lauson urged. "Come on."

An exclamation of disgust followed when he saw the {a-Spades} in the window followed by {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Lauson called for a ten or queen but the {2-Spades} turn was followed by a {7-Clubs} river and that was all she wrote.
