Marsh Doubles

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ben Marsh
Ben Marsh

Ben Marsh bet 6,500, about half of his stack, from middle position on a board of {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} when an opponent checked to him out of the big blind. The player tanked for awhile before deciding to call, and the {3-Clubs} prompted her to quickly shove all in. Marsh double-checked his cards and called off for 6,750, and he showed {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a winning flush.

Marsh is looking to repeat his final table run from last September's Mid-States Poker Tour here. There, Marsh ultimately finished sixth for $15,753. Back in 2011, Marsh also won an MSPT for just over $40,000.

Wilson Busted

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
James Wilson
James Wilson

James Wilson got his last 9,000 or so in on a {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop against a player with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for bottom set. Wilson had top pair with {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, and though he turned some hope with the {7-Diamonds}, he was unable to hit a bigger boat to survive.

Hanner Busts Pupillo

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
"Minnesota" Jon Hanner
"Minnesota" Jon Hanner

Jon Hanner 1,100 in a three-way pot on a {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and Nick Pupillo raised to 2,400 from his left in the cutoff. The big blind folded, and Hanner put Pupillo all in for about 5,000 more. Pupillo called, though he didn't look thrilled, and he indicated he was drawing dead when Hanner turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Pupillo flashed his cards before mucking them after the {10-Clubs} turn, with a {4-Clubs} looking like it was one of the cards. Hanner hit quads on the {q-Spades} river.

On a board that ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs} with only a small turn bet going into the pot, Brian Ward bet 1,600 after Steve Vang checked to him. Jason Sell called, and Vang raised to 4,000. Ward reraised to about 10,000, folding out Sell, and Vang turned over {a-}{9-} thinking he had just been called. Informed it was a raise, Vang shoved all in with his boat only to be snap-called by Ward's {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

After a raise and a few calls, Jason Zarlenga put his last 5,000 or so in from the big blind and got a bunch of folds before the small blind called him.

Zarlenga: {j-}{j-}
Small blind: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Zarlenga won the race when the board ran out nine-high, keeping the two-time Mid-States Poker Tour champ in the game.
