Dimatteo Gets Value With Broadway

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Jonathan Dimatteo checked from middle position on a board of {k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and an opponent on the button bet 1,000. Dimatteo raised to 3,800, and his opponent snap-called. The river brought an {8-Hearts}, and Dimatteo bet 3,500. The player on the button called, and Dimatteo showed {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a Broadway straight. His opponent mucked {a-}{k-} face-up.

Alexander Value-Bets, Folds

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Matt Alexander had a bet of 4,000 in front of him from the the big blind and was facing an all-in shove from an opponent in late position. The final board read {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and Alexander wondered aloud what his opponent could be holding.

"Set of fives?" he asked. "Will you show me if I fold? I'll show you."

Alexander folded {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} face-up after a couple of minutes. His opponent did not show.
