McMaster Busted

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Derek McMaster was all in from an early position for 10,500. He got action in two spots and both players checked down {q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Michael Ermie spun his {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} in and the big blind showed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

"They both beat me," McMaster said with a chuckle, showing {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Frei Can't Find a Fold

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Aaron Frei
Aaron Frei

Joel Verbeck shoved from an early position for 4,700 and Aaron Frei made it 16,000 in middle position. David Sanchez jammed from the small blind for around 70,000. Frei went deep into the tank and ultimately called for about 36,000.

Verbeck: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Frei: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Sanchez: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Three pocket pairs, but Sanchez's was best. The {6-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} gave him a chance to close it out on the turn but he only slammed the door on Verbeck when the {10-Clubs} arrived. The river was a {3-Spades}, securing him the double knockout.

Remington Puts the Pressure On

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ryan Remington bet 2,500 from the button on {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and a player in the big blind made the call. On the {7-Spades} river, Remington bet enough to put his opponent at risk for 8,600, but he quickly released his cards.

Dixon on Heaps Again

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

William Donovan bet 3,000 from the big blind on {4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Rich Dixon made it 6,000 to go in middle position. Donovan peeled, bringing a {4-Diamonds}. He checked and then tank-called another 6,600 but couldn't beat {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for aces and nines.

Dixon again has a big stack, but he ran into a rut on Day 1b in a similar spot, so he'll be hoping to avoid any pitfalls this time around.

Double for Donovan Before Dinner

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player in middle position bet 4,000 on a {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, and the player on the button made it 9,400. Under the gun, William Donovan shoved for 22,500. The bettor mucked but the other player sighed and called.

Donovan: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Donovan just needed to fade tens and backdoor spades, and neither materialized on the {k-Diamonds}, {7-Hearts} runout.

Players are on dinner break for 40 minutes.

Stewart Doubles

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Three players saw an {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop and the blinds checked to a player in middle position, who bet 3,000 into 5,000. Scott Stewart ripped in the small blind for 12,400. The big blind folded and the other player called.

Stewart: {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The {4-Clubs} turn secured it for Stewart as it gave him an unbeatable flush.
