The second flight of the $360 MSPT Golden Gates Regional Event is set to get underway at noon local time.
Day 1a drew 120 entries and play ended with 17 players remaining. Defending Champion Aaron Frei bagged the chip lead of the first flight with an impressive stack of 443,000. Today, another group of players will try to challenge that mark.
This two-day event features a $150,000 guarantee in the prize pool and a starting stack of 20,000. Levels will be of 30 minutes and there will be a 15-minute break every four levels. Late registration and re-entries will remain available until the start of Level 13. Day 1b will play through 15 levels.
Players who bag at the end of a flight are not allowed to play a future flight unless they forfeit their stack. Ante will come from the Big Blind only but the tournament will transition from Big Blind Ante to Standard Ante when 27 players remain.
The survivors of all four flights will combine for Day 2 on November 17 at noon local time to continue to battle it out.

The turn brought the and was checked through to the river. This time, Wright led out with a bet of 700 and his opponent gave it some thought, but chose to let it go.

Players saw a flop of and Geller and the big blind checked. Giovino bet 700 and Geller was the only caller.

The player in early position and the player in mid-position limped. Brent Cunning raised to 800 from the cutoff and Larry Blazer called from the button. The player in the small blind and the player in early position called as well but the player in mid-position gave up his hand.
A flop reading was dealt and action was checked to Blazer who moved all in for 5,400. Cunning was the only caller.

Blazer had flopped a pair of jacks but Cunning had flopped a flush draw. The turn was just what Cunning needed for a flush and the river filled up the board for Cunning to rake in the pot, sending Blazer to the exit.
