Bekavac Back In Action

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Daniel Bekavac
Daniel Bekavac

The seat that Daniel Bekavac occupied was seen having been vacated shortly after the first break. However, he was just spotted back in on the action and called a raise by Gary Herstein to 800. Herstein was in early position and Bekavac was in middle position, and the two saw the small- and big blinds come along as well to take action four ways to the streets.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} and both blinds checked. Herstein fired a continuation-bet of 1,500. Bekavac called and the two blinds folded, taking action heads up to the turn {3-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The river came {9-Spades} and Herstein checked. Bekavac made a bet of 1,500 and Herstein thought for a bit and then folded.

"Good fold," said Bekavac as the pot was sent his way. "Jacks full."

Sinclair Makes Three Sevens on River

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

The board read {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} with 2,600 in the pot and Robert Sinclair check-raised all in for 5,600 from the big blind over a bet of 1,400 from his opponent, who was on the button. The player confirmed the amount and thought for about 15 seconds before tossing in chips to call.

Both hands were tabled, with Sinclair less than thrilled as he announced that he had two sevens.

Robert Sinclair: {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The river fell {7-Clubs}. "Three sevens," corrected Sinclair from his announcement when cards were turned up. His trip sevens on the river improved to earn him the double over his opponent's nines up, giving him life as he stacked his chips, joking about needing to be all in for him to win.

Komberec Gets a Squeeze Through

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

The hijack opened the action with a raise to 800 and received calls from the cutoff and the player on the button. The small blind then folded to put action onto Ken Komberec, who was in the big blind.

"Sixty-two," said Komberec, throwing out a three-bet to 6,200. All three players left in the hand folded and he earned the pot, bringing his stack up over 50,000 in the process to make him one of the largest stacks in the room early on Day 1a.

Sinclair Shoots Down Opponent

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Robert Sinclair was under the gun and pumped it up to 800. He was called by Nick Pupillo, who was on his direct left, and action folded around to the big blind, who three-bet to 2,900.

Sinclair confirmed the amounts and then put in a four-bet to 7,800. Pupillo shook his head and let his cards go to put action back onto the big blind, who announced he was all in. Sinclair immediately announced a call.

All-In Player: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Robert Sinclair: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Sinclair's bullets were well ahead of his opponent's ladies and the situation remained unchanged as the runout came {3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}, leaving the big blind to tap the felt in congratulations of a nice hand as he got up and made his way from the tournament area.

Joseph Flops Top Two

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was just under 3,000 in the pot on a board reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} with heads up action between the big blind and Johanssy Joseph, who was in the cutoff. The big blind checked and Joseph bet 1,300, which was called.

The river came {5-Spades} and the big blind checked again. Joseph fired another 2,000 and quickly received a call.

Joseph showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and the dealer announced aces and queens with a king. His opponent sent his second-best hand face-up to the middle of the table and the dealer quickly scooped up the cards with the board and sent the pot Joseph's way.
