Zinno is Heartless

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

WPT champ and two-time time WSOP bracelet winner Anthony Zinno raised to 800 from the cutoff and the player in the big blind defended to see a {6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop.

The big blind check-called a bet of 800 and then both players checked the {10-Hearts} turn, which paired the board and put out three hearts.

The {7-Hearts} river made it four hearts and again the big blind checked.

Zinno looked as if he was contemplating a bet but ultimately checked behind. He's probably glad he did as the big blind tabled the {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the turned flush.

Zinno simply mucked.

Vixaythong Shoves the River

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

On a runout of {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} and about 9,000 in pot Khanthaly Vixaythong was all in for his last 5,600 and his headsup opponent was in the tank considering a call.

After his opponent sent his cards to the muck Vixaythong tabled {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, which leaves the unanswered question of "Was he bluffing with the best hand?"

2007 WSOP Main Event Champ Sets Up Opponent

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Jerry Yang
Jerry Yang

Five players each committed 1,000 preflop and saw a flop of {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

Both blinds checked, as did a middle-position player, and then Ryan Hughes bet 2,500 from the lojack, which was about half his remaining stack.

2007 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Jerry Yang was next to act in the hijack and he thought for a bit before raising all in for around 26,000.

Action folded back to Hughes and he called off for 5,600 total.

Ryan Hughes: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Jerry Yang: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Hughes had flopped top pair but was in dire straits against Yang, who had a set. The {j-Diamonds} turn gave Hughes a straight draw, but he missed as the {k-Spades} bricked on the river.

Tran Likes the Turn

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

After a call from a middle-position player and Thien Tran in his small blind, the big-blind player made it 1,700 to go and was called by both players.

Tran, first to act, checked the {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, the big-blind player did a continuation bet of 2,100 and was called by Tran. On the {j-Hearts} turn Tran decided to do the betting and led out with 5,500, which was enough to take down the pot.

Carney Calls

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

The button-player raised, Paul Carney three-bet to 2,500 from his small blind and was called.

On the {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop Carney check-called a 4,000 continuation bet and then checked the {a-Hearts} turn. His opponent asked to see Carney's stack, and then pushed forward a stack of blue 5,000 chips, which was more than enough to put Carney all-in. Carne took a brief pause before making the call.

Paul Carney: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{6-Spades}

Even before the dealer fanned the {3-Hearts} river Carney had no sweat whatsover and remarked that he was obviously never folding, but did the quick dramatic pause to be sure the write-up had a little extra time to get all of the details.
