Last Break of the Night

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Players are now on their last 10-minute break of the night. When they return, late registration and re-entries will come to a close on Day 1b. They will then play until there's 30:00 remaining in Level 15 before stopping for the night.

Also, the end of the break will also open up registration for Saturday's Day 1c flight, which will get underway at 3 p.m. local time.

Da Bears

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

There was around 15,000 in the pot and a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} when a raising war broke out between Kyna England and Sean Yu. We're not sure how it unfolded, but we do know it resulted the former getting all in for 128,500 and called by the latter.

Sean Yu: {j-Spades}{7-Spades}
Kyna England: {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

Like her favorite football team, the Chicago Bears, 85 was looking good as she'd flopped two pair with the hand. However, Yu had a ton of outs with both straight and flush draws.

The {j-Diamonds} turn gave him even more outs, but the {4-Diamonds} river was a brick. England, who is fresh off finishing third in the MSPT Riverside in Iowa for $73,782, held and doubled big on the hand.

Andre Verardi Eliminates Andy Rogowski

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Andre Verardi
Andre Verardi

Andre Verardi opened with a raise from the hijack and then called when Chicago's Andy Rogowski three-bet all in for 25,000 from the small blind.

Andy Rogowski: {q-}{10-}
Andre Verardi: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Rogowski was behind but drawing to two live cards. The {7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop didn't pair him but it did give him a gutshot straight draw to a nine.

Unfortunately for Rogowski, both the turn and river bricked to send him to the rail.

One for Alex Balcerzak

Alex Balcerzak raised to 4,500 from the hijack and a short-stacked player defended from the big blind.

On the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} all-tens flop, the big blind checked and Balcerzak continued for 5,000.

His opponent called and then check-called a bet of 5,500 on the {k-Diamonds} turn.

When the {7-Spades} completed the board on the river, the big blind checked for the third time and Balcerzak followed suit by tabling the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

His tens full of eights was good enough to collect the pot as the player in the big blind simply mucked.
