Gilsdorf Looking to Hold with Kings

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Matt Gilsdorf
Matt Gilsdorf

After a player in middle position opened for 27,000, Matt Gilsdorf three-bet jammed for 43,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to the original raiser, who made the call.

Matt Gilsdorf: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Gilsdof got it in good but had to sweat it as the {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop paired his opponent. The {k-Clubs} turn improved Gilsdorf to a set, but he wasn't out of the woods as the same card gave his opponent a gutshot straight draw.

Fortunately for Gilsdorf, the {9-Clubs} river was safe and he shipped the double.

Chow Doubles Through Trimble, Who Bows Out Shortly Thereafter

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nathan Trimble
Nathan Trimble

Nathan Trimble opened with a raise from the hijack only to have WSOPC ring winner Bob Chow three-bet jam for 122,000 from the small blind. Trimble called and the hands were turned up.

Bob Chow: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Nathan Trimble: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop paired Chow but it also gave Trimble a gutshot Broadway draw. The {4-Spades} turn was of no consequence and neither was the {j-Diamonds} river.

Chow doubled on the hand while Trimble was knocked down to 225,000. That said, Trimble was eliminated in unknown action a short time later.

"Thanks for the Protection"

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Rob Waterman
Rob Waterman

Rob Waterman moved all in for 30,000 under the gun and Bob Chow called from middle position. The player on the button called as well before Nathan Trimble three-bet jammed for 269,000 from the small blind. Chow folded and the bottom followed suit.

"Thanks for the protection," Waterman said.

Rob Waterman: {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Nathan Trimble: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Waterman had a kicker problem and it didn't get resolved as the board ran out {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. With that, Waterman hit the rail in 95th place for $782.

Jerry Nguyen
Jerry Nguyen

We happened upon the table with Jerry Nguyen all in for 77,000 from the hijack and Dacqrin Stewart, who was on the button with 31,000 already invested, debating what to do. Eventually he made the call and discovered the bad news.

Dacqrin Stewart: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Jerry Nguyen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Nguyen had the superior ace and shipped the double after the board ran out {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.
