Day 2 Schedule

Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. local time with action picking up from level 16 where blinds are 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante. Blinds will remain 40-minutes in length for the duration of the tournament until heads-up action at which point 30-minute blind levels will come into affect.

There will be 82 players returning for Day 2 action and only 63 spots will be grabbing a piece of the prize pool. Starting the day fairly close to the money might make for some conservative play, but judging by the first two flights the tournament should retain the action-filled play that has been up to this point.

A transition from the big blind ante to a standard ante will come into play when 27 players remain.

Eric Hall Falls to Taylor Howard

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Taylor Howard
Taylor Howard

Action on the table quickly folded around to Taylor Howard who raised to 16,000 before calling Eric Hall's 42,000 three-bet jam from the big blind.

Eric Hall: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Taylor Howard: {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Hall was ahead and connected with the {4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop but it also gave Howard the flush draw. The sweat didn't last long as the {j-Diamonds} completed Howard's flush and the {k-Clubs} river ended Hall's tournament.

James Curl
James Curl

Cy Church opened for 20,000 from middle position and then called the 55,000 three-bet James Curl made from the next seat over.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Church check-jammed after after Curl continued for 50,000. Curl took a few moment then tossed in his 181,000 stack for the call.

Cy Church: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
James Curl: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Church flopped top two-pair but Church was still very live as any club or ten would win him the pot. Unfortunately for Curl, both the {8-Hearts} turn and {7-Hearts} river were bricks, ending his tournament just of the money.

Egesdal had Kohner dominated until the {q-}{j-}{7-} flop hit the felt pairing Kohner's queen. Egesdal was in need of some help but the {q-} turn left him drawing to broadway.

Unfortunately for Egesdal, the {j-} completed the board on the river and ended his tournament on the bubble.

Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Taylor Howard opened for 50,000 from early position and was called by Ryan Thorson on the button before Adam Friedman three-bet jammed for 151,000 from the small blind.

Action was on Eric Eelkema who came over the top from the big blind and Howard folded while Thorson called off his 252,000 stack.

Eric Eelkema: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Ryan Thorson: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Adam Friedman: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Thorson was ahead with his pocket nines and he couldn't have asked for a better flop {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} as it gave him a full house.

The {a-Clubs} turn kept Friedman's tournament hopes alive but the {q-Clubs} river ended his tournament.

John Schroer: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Robert Steinmetz: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

It was a classic race with Steinmetz ahead with his pocket pair and nothing changed after the {5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop.

The board paired with the {8-Hearts} turn and Steinmetz was looking good to score the double until the {k-Spades} fell on the river, ending his tournament in 19th place for $4,994.
