The first of three flights for the Mid-States Poker Tour $1,110 No-Limit Hold’em at Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan begins today at 12 p.m.
For the first time since 2019, MSPT has made a return to this location, boasting an impressive $1,000,000 guarantee on the prize pool, and ensuring one of if not the biggest turnouts in Michigan’s poker tournament history.
Last year saw a gigantic turnout of 1,615 entrants over the course of three days, sporting the same guarantee of $1,000,000 which it crossed easily. It was Bobby Noel who took down the tournament for $262,145 after beating Ralph Massey heads up. Noel is expected to come out to the event as well as past MSPT champions like Kyna England, Dan Bekavac, Daniel Sepiol and more.
The players will sit down with 25,000 in starting chips with blinds at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and levels going up every 40 minutes. After every three levels, there will be a 10-minute break. After Level 9 there will be a 40-minute dinner break, after which the players will come back, play an additional three levels until registration closes. After which, the players will play three more levels and then bag up for the day at the end of Level 15.
The players who do not bag the Day 1a flight will have opportunities to play the flights on Friday the 13th or Saturday the 14th. The players who bag all flight will reunite on Sunday the 15th at 11 am to play down to a winner. Stan Fic called in early position and saw the action fold around to the blinds, who both checked their options.
The flop came out which saw the big blind lead out for 300 and Fic call from early position. The small blind folded and the turn was seen heads up.
The turn was the and saw Fic bet when checked to a sizing of 700. The big blind quickly folded and Fic took down an early pot of the tournament.

Tim Donal raised in first position to 400 and was called by one player in early position and nobody else.
The flop of saw a continue from Donal to the tune of 1,200 which the early position player called.
The turn of saw the same bet and the same response from the opponent.
The river saw Donal size up to 2,500 and the opponent quickly threw her cards into the muck.

An early position player called and from the hijack, Brek Schutten raised to 500 in the cutoff and was called by the button and the initial caller.
The flop came out and action checked over to Schutten who bet 800 which saw the button call and the early position player fold.
The turn of saw Schutten size up to 4,200 which after some deliberation was called by the opponent.
The river was a and Schutten moved all-in for 16,200 effective sending his opponent into the tank. After some time he put in his chips for the call and Schutten turned over for a full house. The opponent could not beat that and he left the tournament area, leaving Schutten to add a significant boost to his stack.
