Pitesa Eliminates Allen; Pushing For Chip Lead

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Anthony Pitesa
Anthony Pitesa

Anthony Pitesa's stack was recently seen to be notably larger, and he shared the actions surrounding its growth.

According to Pitesa, action was folded to him in the small blind and he limped. In the big blind, Jamie Allen raised to 4,200, and Pitesa re-raised to 19,200.

Not one to shy away from an aggressive line, Allen jammed for 65,000 and Pitesa happily called.

Pitesa showed {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}, while Allen showed {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

The board ran out clean for Pitesa and he scooped a huge pot to vault him over 200,000 chips.

Salimi Eliminates Pace

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Barbod Salimi
Barbod Salimi

Barbod Salimi's stack continues to grow thanks to a lucky river against Gianluca Pace.

According to Salimi and his tablemates, on a turn board reading {7-}{10-}{4-}{j-}, Pace check-raised all-in holding the nut straight with {9-}{8-} and got called by Salimi's {k-}{q-} for a Broadway straight draw.

That draw came in with an {a-} on the river, eliminating Pace and extending Salimi's chip lead.

Bandit(h) Steals From Friedman's Growing Stack

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Xaysana Bandith
Xaysana Bandith

Adam Friedman has built his biggest stack of the weekend and is making a push to reach Day 2. His stack recently took a small hit however from the aptly named, Xaysana Bandith.

After Friedman raised in early position to 4,000, Bandith three-bet to 12,000, which was about a third of his remaining stack. Friedman gave his decision some brief pause, then dropped enough chips forward to put Bandith all in. Bandith called.

Xaysana Bandith: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Adam Friedman: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The board came {5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}, giving Bandith a double-up, while Friedman's stack still remains healthy with approximately 60 big blinds.
