Ajayi Makes a Painful Fold

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Dapo Ajayi opened to 190,000 in the hijack and received a call from Norm Tanner on the button. Action went heads up to a flop of {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and both players checked.

The turn came {2-Diamonds} and Ajayi bet 250,000. Tanner quickly slid out a stack of 25,000-chips to raise to the minimum value of 500,000, and Ajayi went deep into the tank. Eventually, Tyler Potts called a clock on Ajayi.

"It wasn't me," offered Tanner.

"It's fine," responded Ajayi. "He did me a favor." Ajayi finally found a fold, doing so with a grimace as he let his hand go.

"You made a good play," Tanner said, showing {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} in exchange for the pot.

Michael Jagroo raised to 125,000 in early position and Adam Wilbur re-jammed in the cutoff. Bobby Garcia asked for a count on the button, which was totaled to be 1.035 million, and then folded after more than half a minute of thought.

Another fold ensued and then Tyler Potts also went deep into the tank in the big blind, eventually having Jagroo call a clock on him. He then slid forward his stack of 1.07 million and Jagroo quickly shot his cards to the muck.

"I know an eight is coming on the flop. Oh, you have nines! I folded eights," said Garcia after the preflop action concluded.

Adam Wilbur: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Tyler Potts: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The runout {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} left Potts' nines best and he scored the effective double in the process, knocking Wilbur out in eighth place for a payday of $15,155.
