Welcome To Day 2 of the MSPT Black Hawk $1,110 Main Event

MSPT Black Hawk Trophy
MSPT Black Hawk Trophy

The next champion on the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) will be determined Sunday for Day 2 of the $1,110 Main Event. Eighty-three players are set to return to Bally's Black Hawk with their eyes set on the top prize of $129,451 after three starting flights produced 651 entries and a total prize pool of $631,470.

Due to Friday's Day 1b flight reaching 12% of the field to enact a hard stop at the earliest time of the three flights, Day 2 will resume with 33:30 remaining in Level 15 (3,000/5,000/5,000). Saturday's Day 1c chip leader Haim Or Krief (781,000) enters the day with the overall chip lead after bagging one of the largest end-of-day stacks in MSPT history. The other two Day 1 chip leaders in Michael Wyporowyich (556,000) and Michael Kinzer (482,000) will also begin Sunday with top-three stacks.

A stacked field sits behind the trio, with players such as Dapo Ajayi (475,000), Craig Varnell (343,000), Kyna England (178,000), Krzysztof Stybaniewicz (136,000), and Kane Lai (125,000) among the 83 returning for Day 2.

Play begins at 11 a.m. local time. Like Day 1, all levels will last 40 minutes with 10-minute breaks after every three levels of play and a dinner break once the final table has been reached. Only top 72 finishers will make it into the money, meaning one shy of a dozen will walk away empty-handed. Lastly, the tournament structure will transition from big-blind ante to traditional ante once 27 players remain and the three-table redraw has occurred.

Who will be the MSPT Black Hawk $1,110 Main Event Champion when all is said and done? PokerNews will be here to bring you the answer to that question, so be sure to keep it here.
