Griboski Check-Raises Ambaye

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Vincent Griboski
Vincent Griboski

Action was heads up as Vincent Griboski bet 1,000 on a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} from under the gun. Yohannes Ambaye raised to 2,200 in early position and Griboski called.

The turn came {5-Clubs} and Griboski checked. Ambaye bet 3,400 and Griboski put in a check-raise to 11,500.

Ambaye thought for over a minute, and then he slid his cards forward across the felt to the muck, earning Griboski the pot with his turn check-raise.

Vanier Delivers a Dusting

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

More than 20,000 was already in the middle with heads-up action on a completed board of {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Mike Vanier checked in the small blind and his opponent bet 7,000 from early position. Vanier then check-jammed for 14,700 and his opponent thought for about 30 seconds before calling all in for less.

Vanier showed {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the flopped full house and his opponent sent his cards to the muck, which were retrieved to be {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} as he made his way from the table.

Beauprez Gets a Muck

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was 7,100 in the middle on a flop reading {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts} and John Beauprez announced a bet of 900 in the big blind. His sole opponent was Nate Zoller, who called in the hijack. Both players then checked through the turn {10-Spades} and river {j-Hearts} to take the hand to showdown.

"Sevens," said Beauprez, hesitating to see if Zoller would table anything better. Zoller did not balk, and Beauprez turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Zoller then sent his cards to the muck and the pot was shipped to Beauprez.

River Keeps Sandoval Alive

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Daniel Sandoval was all in preflop on the button for 5,800, having received action from Chris Quackenbush in the small blind.

Daniel Sandoval: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Chris Quackenbush: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Sandoval's sailboats appeared to be hooked as the flop {10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and turn {9-Clubs} came on board, but the river {4-Clubs} gave Sandoval a set and earned him the double as a result.

Spahiu Stacks Carter

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Renato Spahiu

"I had you right where I wanted you," said Bruce Carter, leaning back in his seat in the big blind as his stack was being shipped across the table to the early-position Renato Spahiu. "Nice catch," Carter added.

The board read {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades} with both players' hands still tabled: Carter's {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} had flopped Broadway with a redraw to a Royal Flush, but Spahiu's flopped top two pair made a full house on the river to improve to the best hand and win the pot and the knockout.
