Wyporowich Doubles With Rockets

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Michael Wyporowich
Michael Wyporowich

Michael Wyporowich opened the action with a raise to 1,600 in middle position and saw four players call behind. Everybody checked the flop {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, bringing the turn {7-Spades}. The small blind bet 7,000 and Wyporowich went all in for 13,800, receiving a call when action got back to the small blind.

Michael Wyporowich: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Wyporowich already had the double locked up by the time the money went in and the river {2-Diamonds} improved him to a full house in the process, bringing him north of 30K after being one of the shorter stacks for most of the day thus far.

Stewart Jams the Flop

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Scott Stewart
Scott Stewart

Scott Stewart raised to 1,600 in middle position and was three-bet to 5,100 by WIll Givens in the big blind. Stewart called.

The dealer fanned a flop of {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Givens continuation-bet 5,600. Stewart announced he was all in for around 20,000 total and Givens thought for about 20 seconds before releasing his hand, earning Stewart the pot with his flop shove.

Stefan Stacks Gonzales

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Sarah Stefan
Sarah Stefan

Action was heads up on a completed board of {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts} between Sarah Stefan in the cutoff and Danny Gonzales, who was in the cutoff. Stefan checked to Gonzales, who made a bet of 10,200, which looked to be slightly greater than the size of the pot. Stefan responded with a check-jam, sending Gonzales into deliberation for a few moments.

"I'm sure I'm beat," said Gonzales as he called and showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for the second nuts. His hunch was correct, as Stefan showed {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} to win the pot and knock out Gonzales.

Simmer Heating Up; Field Reaches 200

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jarred Simmer looks to have the largest stack in the room, already having amassed a chip total of more than 200,000 prior to the second break of the afternoon.

Simmer has been seen from afar stacking chips over the last couple of hours, taking chunks, and eventually stacks from the likes of Scott Stewart and Joel Verbeck throughout the afternoon.

And speaking of 200s, Simmer's stack isn't the only notable: Day 1b has just received its 200th entry of the day as well, bringing the current total up to 333 with five more hours of registration available today and another full flight set to run Saturday.

Hunsinger Fades the Snap Call

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Ryan Hunsinger
Ryan Hunsinger

Dapo Ajayi raised to 2,100 under the gun and saw action fold around to Ryan Hunsinger, who was on the button and three-bet to 6,700. Ajayi asked to see Hunsinger's stack briefly, which appeared to be about 43K behind, and then called.

The flop dropped {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Ajayi checked to Hunsinger, who continuation-bet 8,100. Ajayi called and the turn came {4-Spades}, where he checked again.

"All in," said Hunsinger, pushing forward his stack. Ajayi motioned to the dealer for a count, and Hunsinger's stack was totaled to be 35,800. Ajayi went Full Sherman, entering the tank for at least 90 seconds before Hunsinger spoke up: "Well, I faded the snap, so..."

Ajayi responded, "My hand's not that great. Just relax." He then thought for more than another full minute and eventually released his hand.

"Show one?" pleaded Ajayi. Instead, Hunsinger traded his unexposed cards for the pot. "Good hand," added Ajayi.

Kessler Bites the Dust

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Allen Kessler was just eliminated from the tournament after being down to his last 10,600 and getting it in with ace-queen against pocket kings versus a player that had 10,000 exactly. He then got his last 600 in on the very next hand and failed to win the hand, instead watching the pot go to Steve Wilkie.

Kessler has not been seen having rebought, though late registration remains open until 9:10 p.m. local time, and another flight still remains tomorrow.
