Ambaye Fires Thrice

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Yohannes Ambaye raised to 6,000 in middle position and was called by the player on the button as well as Francesco Campanile, who defended his big blind. The flop fell {9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Campanile checked to Ambaye, who continuation-bet 7,000. The player on the button called and Campanile folded.

Action was then heads up to the turn {7-Clubs}, where Ambaye fired another 12,000 into the middle. The player on the button quickly called and the river came {6-Hearts}. Ambaye fired another 30,000 into the middle, sending his opponent into the tank for about half a minute as he sat there shuffling half a stack of chips.

Eventually, the player on the button decided the bet was convincing enough and sent his cards to the muck to earn Ambaye the pot with his third barrel.

Matt Myers raised in the hijack and received a call in the small blind. The big blind then re-jammed for 27,000 on top of the original raise, and Myers made the call with the small blind folding behind.

Matt Myers: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Myers saw a queen-high runout of {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} come to leave his kings on top and secure the pot and the knockout.

"Worst Thousand I Ever Spent in My Life"

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ronnie Bardah
Ronnie Bardah

Jacob Mintz raised to 6,000 under the gun and received a call in middle position before Jeff Heiberg three-bet to 18,000 in the hijack. Ronnie Bardah was in the big blind just after re-entering and went all in for 22,000. Mintz re-jammed for 46,000 and Heiberg called after a fold ensued in between.

Ronnie Bardah: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jacob Mintz: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Jeff Heiberg: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

"Oh," exclaimed Bardah after seeing the situation. Neither of the two remaining aces in the deck came as the dealer brought a runout of {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and he was eliminated from the tournament by Mintz, who earned more than a double of his own in the process.

"Worst thousand I ever spent in my life," added Bardah before making his way from the table.

Brown Done and Dusted

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Tomas Brown
Tomas Brown

A short-stacked Tomas Brown open-jammed in the cutoff and received a call from John Sun on the button. Both players in the blinds folded.

Tomas Brown: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
John Sun: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

A six on the flop {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} left Brown with nothing but running flush outs to double or straight outs to chop, both of which were squashed by the turn {q-Hearts}. The river {5-Spades} completed the runout, making the hand official and eliminating Brown from the tournament as a result.
