Perez Saved by the Ace

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante

"All in," announced Juan Perez in the hijack as he slid out a stack upon action folding to him.

"Oh my god," said Alex Kotliarsky on the button, looking up and away from the table. "I call," he added after a few more seconds, dropping a stack of chips onto the felt.

Juan Perez: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Alex Kotliarsky: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

"In the window," Kotliarsky said after seeing the flop {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The turn {7-Spades} traded his two set outs for three gutshot straight outs, but it all proved to be for naught as the river {j-Diamonds} completed the runout to score Perez the double.

Kotliarsky was then left with under one big blind, but doubled on the following hand to get back to above 350,000.

Heiberg Jams on the Flop

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante

Cy Church opened to 300,000 under the gun and was called by Jeff Heiberg in the hijack and Frederick Rule, who defended his big blind.

Rule led out for 500,000 on the flop {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Church called. Rule then annnounced he was all in, prompting a quick fold from Rule before Church went deep into the tank.

Over two minutes went by before Church asked for the initial 500K to be pulled in and to see how much remained to call. Close to another minute then passed and he folded {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} face-up for Heiberg to take down the pot.

Ben Keeline Eliminated in 14th Place; Victor Shumway Eliminated in 13th Place ($3,593)

James Callanan raised to 275,000 in the hijack and Cy Church re-jammed for over 2 million on the button. Ben Keeline called his last few big blinds off in the big blind and then Callanan thought for a while before folding.

Ben Keeline: {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Cy Church: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

"Nice call, Ben," said Callanan of Keeline's coin-flip opportunity to more than triple. However, the runout {2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Spades} left Keeline missing an eventual 10-outer on the river to fall in 14th place.

A moment later, Victor Shumway fell in 13th after committing his last two big blinds under the gun and winding up with the second-best hand when all was said and done.

Alex Kotliarsky Eliminated in 12th Place ($4,192)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante
Alex Kotliarsky
Alex Kotliarsky

Alex Kotliarsky had spun up his crumbs to over 1 million and open-jammed under the gun. Barb Visher announced a call on the button.

Alex Kotliarsy: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Barb Visher: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Visher flopped top pair, top kicker on {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades} to pick up two more immediate outs to knock out Kotliarsky. The turn {4-Diamonds} was safe, but the river {q-Hearts} peeled off right behind it to give Visher trips and eliminate Kotliarsky in 12th place, just a few positions shy of making back-to-back final tables in this event after chopping it heads up in January, 2020.
