Hendricks Delivers a Dusting

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Mary Hendricks
Mary Hendricks

More than half the table was involved in a pot that had over 6,000 in the middle going to a flop of {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. A player in early position jammed for 6,000 and Mary Hendricks re-jammed from the hijack, prompting all other players to quickly fold.

"I'm in trouble now," said the all-in player as he tabled {3-Spades}{2-Spades}. Hendricks showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker with the nut flush draw.

The turn {7-Clubs} and river {a-Clubs} completed the runout, further improving Hendricks to top two pair en route to the pot and the knockout.

Fjeldsted Good at Showdown

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Gary Fjeldsted
Gary Fjeldsted

Gary Fjeldsted saw action fold to him in the cutoff and opened to 800. Renato Spahiu three-bet to 2,500 on the button and Fjeldsted called once it became his turn to do so.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Fjeldsted checked to Spahiu, who continuation-bet 3,000. Fjeldsted called.

Action then checked through the turn {8-Spades}, bringing the river {8-Hearts} where Fjeldsted tossed out 2,000 onto the felt. Spahiu thought for about 15 seconds and then called.

Fjeldsted showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and took down the pot upon Spahiu mucking his second-best holdings.

Cole Needs No Showdown

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Austin Cole
Austin Cole

A mountain of chips was already in the middle with four-handed action going to {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}. Steve Patch was first to act under the gun and checked to Austin Cole, who was one position over. Cole bet 5,00 and the player on his direct left called, prompting a fold from middle position before Patch announced a call.

Three then went to the river {10-Spades} and Cole threw out a bet of 7,000 before immediately grabbing it back and apologizing to Patch about not realizing he was first to act. Patch checked, Cole threw out 7,000, and received a fold from the player on his left after about 20 seconds to send action back to Patch.

Patch then went into the tank for about the same amount of time before sending his cards to the muck.

"Sorry," said Cole again of his out-of-turn bet as the pot was sent his way.

"No worries!" said Patch. "It was a close one!"

Walker Flops a Boat

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Jordan Walker
Jordan Walker

Jordan Walker was in the process of collecting a double with his winning hand of {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} tabled on a board of {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

"Flopped a boat versus aces," said Walker, whose remaining chips were being matched by his opponent two seats over. Action was confirmed that Walker limped in under the gun and another player limped in behind before the small blind pumped it up to 2,000 and received calls from both limpers.

The small blind continued for 1,700 on the flop with only Walker calling. Walker then called another 4,000 on the turn before his opponent bet 15,000 on the river. Walker jammed for slightly more and was called by two aces, which were promptly mucked in favor of Walker's full house.

Ambaye Takes a Stack

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Yohannes Ambaye
Yohannes Ambaye

Action was heads-up in a single-raised pot on a board reading {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and a player in early position bet 2,000. Yohannes Ambaye called on the button.

The turn came {5-Spades} and Ambaye's opponent bet another 4,000. Ambaye called and the river came {j-Spades}, where his opponent checked.

"All in," said Ambaye. His opponent thought for over a minute before committing his remaining 22,100.

Ambaye showed {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and announced a straight, prompting his opponent to wish him a nice hand and muck his two cards. The dealer scooped them into the muck without showing and Ambaye took down the pot.

Collins Can't Spin It Back Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Greg Collins
Greg Collins

After falling short early in the day, Greg Collins had maintained his stack of around 6,500 until just before the first break of the day when he got the last of it in preflop under the gun against Aaron Thomas, who was in the big blind.

Greg Collins: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Aaron Thomas: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, leaving Thomas' hand best.

"Almost a flush!" joked Collins as he made his way from the table and went to the registration desk to get back in on the action with no delay.
