Hoang Nears Half a Million

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Tan Hoang
Tan Hoang

After spinning up a stack of 8,000 to more than a quarter-million before the dinner break, Tan Hoang has increased his stack by another 200K at his new table.

Hoang took another player's stack after the player was in the cutoff and three-bet an open from middle position. Hoang cold-called in the small blind and stacks eventually got in on a {j-}{7-}{x-} flop.

Tan Hoang: {j-}{j-}
Opponent: {7-}{7-}

Hoang's set-over-set pot has propelled him to over 450K with a little over an hour of play remaining in the day, making him the clear chip leader at this point in the tournament.

Bally's Black Hawk
Bally's Black Hawk

For all looking to play, the daily 10 a.m. $80 MSPT Regional satellite event will still run at its regularly scheduled time; however, a change has been made to the structure in order to accommodate for the large turnout expected at noon. Instead of the normal 20-minute levels, each level will last 10 minutes until the tournament has played down to its appropriate number of players. The tournament will also be an "Ironman" event, meaning there will be no breaks due to the expected short runtime.
