The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is headed back to South Dakota this month for the MSPT Deadwood Shootout, which will feature the $1,110 buy-in Main Event with a $100,000 guarantee taking place Oct. 21-23.
The MSPT stop, taking place at Silverado-Franklin Casino in Deadwood, will also feature a handful of satellites into the Main Event and will close out with a $250 Last Chance Showdown event.
The two-day Main Event will feature two starting flights, the first of which will get underway on Oct. 21. In exchange for their $1,110 buy-in, players will receive a starting stack of 25,000 chips with blinds beginning at 100/100/100.
Approximately 12% of each starting flight will advance to Day 2 on Oct. 23, which will play down to a winner, who will earn the lion's share of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and take home the trophy.
Players with bankrolls on the lighter side will have plenty of opportunities to win a seat into the Main Event with dozens of satellites running.
Players can either play a $65 satellite where one in five players advances to the $265 satellite, or they can buy directly into the $265 satellite, which also awards seats to one in five players.
The MSPT stop in South Dakota will close out with $250 Last Chance Showdown, which will play out alongside Day 2 of the Main Event on Oct. 23.
After wrapping up in South Dakota, the MSPT team will be off to Riverside Casino for MSPT Iowa, which will feature a $300,000 guaranteed Main Event Oct. 27-30.

A player raised to 2,500 in second position and in early position, a player moved all in for 6,600. In middle position, Kevin Berthelsen raised to 12,800 and all other players folded, with the initial raiser mucking face up.
Opponent:
Kevin Berthelsen:
The board ran out and Berthelsen's kings up with an ace kicker was good for the pot.
A player in first position called and in late position, Donovan Dean raised to 1,500 which was called by one player. In the small blind, Jean "Prince" Gaspard moved all in for 26,500 and the under the gun player said "I'm just calling," before tossing in two chips.
The floor was called over to rule it as a call of the all in and the other players folded.
Opponent:
Jean "Prince" Gaspard:
"Oh my god," giggled Gaspard. "Jack-five?"
The board ran out and Gaspard found a king on the turn to make top pair to eliminate his opponent.
