Todd Bartlett

Mike Estes pumped it up to 300,000 in middle position and Timothy Gundrum three-bet to 700,000. Todd Bartlett called off his last 255,000 in the big blind and then Estes re-jammed for 2.9 million. Gundrum thought for close to half a minute and then let his hand go.

Todd Bartlett: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Mike Estes: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

"Not even a sweat, huh?" Bartlett joked to the dealer by the turn of a runout {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. "Nice hand," he then added, sending the compliment in Estes' direction before making his way to the payouts.

Estes Nabs a Double

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante

Todd Bartlett opened to 225,000 in the hijack and was three-bet to 600,000 by Mike Estes in the big blind. Bartlett called. Estes continued for his remaining 775,000 on the flop {3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Bartlett called.

Mike Estes: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Todd Bartlett: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Estes' bullets had a commanding lead and he faded the two outer the turn {2-Hearts} and river {4-Diamonds} completed the board to score himself a double, leaving Bartlett as the shortest stack in the room with seven still in contention.

Peyton Smith
Peyton Smith

Peyton Smith opened in early position and was called by Stephen Torre, who defended his big blind. The flop dropped {4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Torre checked to Smith, who continuation-bet 225,000. Torre check-raised to 675,000 and Smith thought for a little over a minute before announcing he was all in for around 2.3 million. Torre instantly called.

Peyton Smith: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Stephen Torre: {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Torre's top pair of queens was ahead but he needed to fade straight outs as well as an overcard. The turn {3-Clubs} and river {4-Hearts} complied with Smith unable to further improve, bringing about his elimination in eighth place.

Jared Ditmarson Eliminated in 10th Place ($10,783)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jared Ditmarson
Jared Ditmarson

Jared Ditmarson opened to 200,000 in the cutoff and action folded to Mike Estes, who re-jammed in the big blind. Ditmarson went into the tank and then found a call after some time.

Jared Ditmarson: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Mike Estes: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"You're ahead," said a tablemate upon seeing the cards tabled.

"I'd like to use my one time," Ditmarson said with a smile. The flop {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} brought potential counterfeit outs, and running {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} gave Estes the better two pair as Ditmarson was left playing the board.

Stacks were counted to be 1.045 million for Estes and 1.040 million for Ditmarson, resulting in his entire stack going in the direction of Estes as he finished in 10th place. The finish was Ditmarson's second inside the final two tables at MSPT Riverside after he took 18th place in the last $1,100 Main Event here some four months ago.
