Halpern Turns Nguyen to the Rail

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Rambo Halpern
Rambo Halpern

Rambo Halpern raised it up from middle position and was called by Khai Nguyen on his left and Jennifer Gianera in the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} and Halpern continued with a bet of 14,000. Nguyen shipped all in for around 45,000 which got Gianera to fold but Halpern quickly called.

Khai Nguyen: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Rambo Halpern: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Nguyen flopped a king-high flush but Halpern was looking for the board to pair with a set of fives. The {9-Clubs} on the turn did just that as Halpern made his full house and left Nguyen drawing dead to the {q-Hearts} on the river.

Conniff's Check-Raise Doesn't Phase Lin

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Asher Conniff raised to 6,000 from the cutoff and Xiang Lin re-raised to 16,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Conniff called to see a flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Conniff checked to Lin who continued with a bet of 15,000. Conniff counted out a check-raise to 35,000 only to have Lin answer back with a re-raise to 75,000. Conniff quickly dispatched his cards and Lin dragged in the pot.

Platt Slows Down Peake

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jeff Platt opened to 5,000 in early position and Carlton Peake defended from the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Peake check-called a min-bet of 2,500 from Platt.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Peake led out with a bet of 10,000. Platt just called and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board. Peake put together another bet of 26,000 and Platt instantly called. Peake rolled over {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a missed flush draw while Platt held {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines.

Holloway Runs Out of Gas

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

The action folded around to PokerNews' own Chad Holloway in the small blind. Holloway shoved all in for 23,000 but was quickly called by Christina Gollins in the big blind.

Chad Holloway: {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Christina Gollins: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Gollins was in a dominating position and the flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} was no help to Holloway. The {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {k-Hearts} on the river were also bricks as Holloway was sent to the rail.

Reichard Wins With...Jack-High?

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Joshua Reichard
Joshua Reichard

Joshua Reichard opened to 5,500 from under the gun and was called by Don Sarubbi from a couple of seats over. They went heads-up to a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Reichard continued with a bet of 7,000 which Sarubbi called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Reichard sized up with a bet of 22,500. Sarubbi deliberated before making the call and the {a-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Reichard opted to check this time and Sarubbi checked it back. "Jack-high," Reichard announced. Sarubbi threw his {5-Spades}{2-Spades} face up into the middle and Reichard's {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} was good enough to win the pot.
