Peake Soars to New Heights

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Carlton Peake
Carlton Peake

Carlton Peake limped in from under the gun which invited the player on his left along with the big blind to come along. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Peake was the first to throw in a bet of 6,500. His opponent on his left called and they went heads-up to the {5-Hearts} on the turn.

Peake checked this time and his opponent threw in a bet of 8,000. Peake check-raised to 32,000 and his opponent thought for a couple of minutes before making the call.

The {9-Clubs} completed the board and Peake wasted little time before jamming all in. His opponent was left with a decision for his remaining 35,000 chips and after another two minutes in the tank, eventually called it off. Peake tabled {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} which was good enough to best his opponent's {8-}{8-}.

Patrick McCullough

There was a raise to 3,000 on the button and Patrick McCullough called from the small blind. Dan Bekavac re-raised to 11,500 from the big blind which was only called by McCullough.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and McCullough check-called a bet of 9,000 from Bekavac. The {q-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and McCullough checked again. Bekavac fired out another bet of 18,000 and McCullough still called.

The river was the {a-Hearts} and McCullough checked for the third time. Bekavac quickly put together a bet of 28,000 and McCullough snapped him off.

"You're good man," Bekavac said showing {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for king-high. McCullough tabled {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for trip queens and raked in the pot.

Halpern Doubles with a Big Blind Special

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a four-way limped pot, the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Rambo Halpern was in the big blind and ripped all in for 15,400. Don Sarubbi asked for a count and then called while the rest of the players got out of the way.

Rambo Halpern: {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Don Sarubbi: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Halpern was out front with his pair of tens but Sarubbi still had a few outs. The {9-Hearts} on the turn and the {5-Hearts} on the river were safe for Halpern who scored a double-up through one of the larger stacks.

"Too rich to fold," Halpern commented after the hand.
